Bright & Comfortable headlamp for running
I like that this headlamp has a slightly wider band than most other headlamps. It makes it much more comfortable. It also does not weigh too much such that you can feel it bouncing while running, like some of the other bright headlamps do. While its full brightness does stay on for more than 30 seconds, unlike many other models claiming high brightness, it does dim after several minutes. I really like the very low brightness warm white mode, which allows you to see something close by (like a map) without ruining your night vision. What would make this perfect is a lamp that can be directed down while another is directed out, so that one light is making trip hazards like tree roots visible up close, while the other is lighting up the trail ahead.

Now THIS is a headlamp
I'm a huge fan of this headlamp, and now i know why people pay extra for Fenix headlamps. This thing is like wearing a sungun on my head. My wife called my name on a night hike, and now she's permanently blind after i turned her way. Ok not really, but that could totally happen. There are two lights on here, one main light (the super bright one) and a secondary warm-white light. The main one is for seeing WAYY ahead of you and blinding crowds of people (or spouses) and the warm white one is for reading maps, checking the time, lighting up your immediate area, etc. Both lights have their own button and high/med/low functions. I really do gotta say the throw is crazy good on the main light, it illuminates more of the trail than even my Pelican flashlight... and that's saying something. Another cool feature is the headstrap, it doesn't adjust with one of those loops, theres this ratchet thingy along the side... twist to tighten, press to release. It makes the headband stay in place so much better and it really does a great job of tightening. I will say that at this pricepoint it would be nice to see an adjustable beam, like, let me be able to focus it at LEAST a bit. Another battery wouldn't hurt either. Speaking of batteries, the one that's included does a decent job of holding a charge, and charges up pretty quick thanks to the usb c port. All in all yeah, it's a bit pricey... perhaps a bit TOO pricey, but it's also a quality, well made lamp.

It's nice, but...
I like this light, quite a bit. At the same time, for the price I expected it to be brighter. I'm not sure it hits the lumens it claims to. Still, it's a great product. I especially love (LOVE) how the headband adjusts, and more companies should make them like this. Overall, I like it, but maybe wait for a sale.

Quality Headlamp
This is a great headlamp that is perfect for a large variety of applications. The strap is very comfortable and easy to adjust with the dial mechanism. It works similar to the adjustment on a bike helmet. I do worry a little about how durable the strings/wires will be that hold the strap to the selected size, but so far so good. The light itself is very bright and the interface is very easy to use. It comes with two different lights, a cool white and a warm white. Personally I prefer the cool white, and could do without the warm light, but I can see how it would be good for certain use cases. The manual says the battery can last for up to 24 hours on the low setting, which is pretty impressive. I haven't tested this yet, and probably never will, but its a pretty impressive claim. They list it as being made for trail running, but I feel like it would be a little too bulky for that. Not that I do any trail running, but I would think you would something as light as possible. This is great for camping or really any activity where you need hands free light. Quality product, highly recommend.

Headlamp perfection
I have several headlamps in all prices ranging from 99¢ store headlamps to a $300 Surefire. I use a headlamp daily in my job (I work in TV production and am often in dark studios or shooting into the night). I already own a Fenix HM65r and was thrilled to get this updated version. The HM65R-DT is incredibly adjustable, from blinding brightness to just barely visible with multiple stops of adjustment in between. The dual beams provide excellent utility switching between flood, throw, or both. Moonlight mode is perfect for organizing gear or looking for that loose black cable that’s sunk to the bottom or your black Pelican case. The updated headband is excellent; easy top operate with one hand, or a gloved hand. Comfortable for all day wear. Hi viz so you can easily locate it. The light itself is a lightweight magnesium construction with an integrated 18650 battery and USB C charging port. No awful external battery on the back of your head with a coiled cable pulling the strap up awkwardly to one side. This is design and utility perfectly balanced. Bravo Fenix.

Awesome!
I seriously love this headlamp!! I use headlamps on a regular basis, and this one is definitely my favorite so far. I didn't realize how much I'd like the twist to tighten, but it's so awesome for getting it just right without putting a bunch of pressure on your head. It also takes the 18650 battery, which is very nice, and they even included a little case to hold a couple extra batteries if you ever get more. I also really appreciate the different lighting options. The bright white light is impressively bright and clear, and the softer light has a lower setting so that you can use the headlamp without having this blaring light shining everywhere. I could not be happier!!
