Does this device work for 4 to 5 wires for the ecobee smart si?

Though Lux tries to sell this for its own thermostats, it should work with the older ecobee Smart Si; ecobee's Power Extender Kit (PEK) for that model was sold separately and, like the Lux, used an extra component behind the wall (besides the actual kit at the furnace or zone panel) to multiplex other wires so another wire could become the C-wire. The first-gen PEK, like the Si, is no longer being made but can still be ordered from certain HVAC supply houses. You can also use the Venstar Add-A-Wire Kit (the most popular one) or other third-party C-wire adapters made for smart thermostats in general; those come with an in-wall multiplexing component as well.

Later ecobee models (ecobee3, ecobee3 lite, ecobee4, ecobee SmartThermostat with voice control) come with a PEK designed for that model in the box; use that instead of this device. Those ecobees have internal multiplexing logic for their own PEKs that may not be compatible with other adapters like the Lux. (Same goes for many Honeywell WiFi thermostats as well.)

will this work with a nest thermostat?

There is nothing stopping the LUX Power Bridge from working with your Nest thermostat. But technical Support can only help you install the product at the furnace and can't help you wire the unit to the Nest thermostat.
