Our Vultur Vertical GTX is an extremely robust high-cut boot. For mixed routes and ice climbing, the stiff nylon insole, ergonomic Pebax midsole and Vibram SALEWA PRO outsole provide compatibility with full-automatic/ step-in crampons (i.e. there is a heel and toe welt), while still allowing good walkability.Inside, the breathable GORE-TEX Duratherm XL membrane will keep your feet and toes super dry and warm even in colder conditions. Customizable fit technologies allow you to tailor your boots to the unique shape of your foot. Climbing Lacing offers accurate adjustment in the toe-area for greater climbing precision. Our trademark SALEWA 3F System connects the instep area with the sole and heel, ensuring flexibility and support. The multi-layer MFF+ footbed allows customization with two interchangeable layers. And the Flex Collar increases the ankle’s rear range of motion and comfort during descents.

Love the comfort level
Right out of the box I put these bad boys on for a bit of testing out inside the house, and they felt like a glove when I slid them on my feet. Excellent heel cup and support, with a roomy toe box, and the lacing is superb in my opinion. With 2 separate locking points over the top of the foot, you can really get a custom fit. Speaking of custom fit, the adjustable insoles make these boots sit apart from other brands, allowing you to customize for a standard or narrow fit. Overall initial impression is very good. Once I'm positive I like the fit, I'll do some more testing, and try to remember to update my review, lol.Update: I've been wearing these around the house for a few days now, as well as submitted them to the tub test. I've just redone the tub test with an ice bath to test the warmth while submerged. I've been sitting on the edge of the tub for 30min with my feet in the ice bath submerged above the ankle, and my feet are still dry and toasty. Even with the lack of heat from movement, my feet are still comfortable on the inside. This is a bit of a worse case scenario, being submerged in cold water, but I know they can do it now, no problem. I'm very eager to get these on the mountain for a real test, but I'd definitely recommend these.

They don't get better then these at any price!
When it comes to hard core climbing/ hiking boots, they just don't get any better then SALEWA boots!Having had the M-2 Pro Vertical boots, I was dissapointed when they discontinued them, but these Vultures are every bit as good as the old boots! Fit is a slightly tight, but once broken in, they fit exactly! Adjustments are secure and easy to maintain as set, traction is second to none, and vertical performance is outstanding! These are super comfortable, nice and stiff with tons of support and stability, and even when dancing on the rudder pedals in my plane, they are easy as shoes to work the controls! I use these year round, from flying to hiking, to winter hunting in wet and snow, these are unbeatable! In short, you cannot get a better boot at any price, PERIOD!

Hard To Use As Intended.
Very hard to get on and off. I know it takes wearing in but I could not get this totally worn in... Be careful what shoes you buy.

Awesome boot
Supportive and rigid. Can’t wait to wear these in the winter. It’s too early to tell how warm they’ll be but the ride and comfort are spectacular! Though they were not constructed for a lineman, they’re by far the best boot I’ve ever owned and I haven’t even worn them to work yet! Even more comfortable than the Raven 2 that I am currently wearing in the warmer months.

Best all around mountaineering boot I’ve ever worn
Nothing to write but awesome. I have a average foot arch and width. I use these for vertical ice and general low elevation mountaineering. I’ve had a pair from most brands over the years, salewa doesn’t disappoint.

Great Quality Boots
I bought these boots for snowshoeing and they are very warm and waterproof. They are quite stiff but they work well for my application. They are extremely well made. I am very pleased with them.

Perfect for winter mountaineering.
Good fitting. Warm. Easy to attach micro spikes and crampons. For mountainous terrain. And not for warm weather backpacking!
