HighPoint Single Bay USB 3.0 SATA 6Gb/s Drive Dock (RocketStor 5411A)

This device is everything promised in terms of speed. Conducted a variety of tests using a MacBook Pro (late 2011) with a comparable USB based dual dock, and then (exactly the same processes, and same target drives) with this device. Consistently 66% faster than using comparable USB device. This is an excellent addition to the tools I use when assisting clients.Suspect that the great price is achieved by grey importing, supplied with US and EU style mains cable (and an adaptor to UK style 13A).Purchased a proper IEC type mains lead rather than faff with the adaptor. It's a pity that most thunderbolt defies seem to lack a second Thunderbolt port (considering the prices charged for Thunderbolt devices). Also the device lacks an on/off switch, a shame, however if the volumes it presents are unmounted from the desktop the device powers down (a Thunderbolt feature).

DOES NOT COME WITH A UK PLUG, it came with a 3 pin US plug instead (a UK plug isn't even an option). Managed to get it working with a cable i'd got in the house, so far it works as it should but i'd be very weary about buying this product without knowing this information.

I have had this dock for about a year and it has performed well. Hot swapping HDDs and I boot an ssd from it too. Altogether a good purchase. Oh yes and much cheaper from a non-amazon vendor.

I have several internal HDDs before I bought a MacBook Pro, and I don't want to buy another external HDD for saving data.Then I found this RS5212 which can meet my request. I can continue to use my previous HDDs by putting them in the docking station to save data.What's more, it is a Thunderbolt docking so I can fully use the Thunderbolt port on my MacBook Pro. Really easy to use!

Now this looks good... but it's 3x cheaper on Amazon.com... The price here is insane.
