The counter-sunk female end pulled out of the top portion of the stand way before it was ever sitting close to flush with the top of the stem. Ended up leaving that out and securing with No More Nails instead. It looks nice, but the wood is extremely soft, and I'm not confident about its durability at all.

Obsessed
I added some artificial moss to mine. I'm infatuated with it. It makes me feel like I'm on a y2k movie. The ones set in a cool down town apartment of some weird, wild, it-girl. Wouldn't recommend to extreme minimalists. Doesn't; wobble and hasn't fallen over yet. Lighter than anticipated. Sometimes the little things can bring you joy. Hope that helps x

Cheap, not food safe, definitely not wooden.
Big patches of the item was white, didnt feel sturdy or feel like wood, it felt more like foam and had almost no weight to it at all. It was purchased as a small wedding cake stand, but felt like it would tip as soon as I cut my cake. For the price I spent, I expected something that was better quality. It is advertised as a cake stand but isn't food safe?
