We bought this to replace a smaller simplehuman pedal bin which had given excellent service for many years so were already familiar with the high quality of their products. We wanted a bin taking up roughly the same floor space but with larger capacity and were impressed with the description of the simple 'one touch' mechanism and the tilt arrangement for replacing the bin liner in the container. We have not been disappointed. The bin is very well made in brushed stainless steel, including an anti-fingerprint coating which actually works. Most importantly, the one touch opening works perfectly - no need to bend down as the top is just below average waist height. Or, as the product details say, it can be opened with a nudge from the knee. Closing the bin is equally easy and simple. Not that a kitchen waste bin has to be glamorous, but it really does look the part - fits nicely into any kitchen decor without being over-conspicuous. One minor niggle - replacement bin liners (Code H) are a little difficult to fit across the top of the container but you soon get used to squeezing them on and, being a tight fit, has the advantage of ensuring that the liner does not flap outside the lid fitting. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the bin and thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar sized waste receptacle that is good-looking and easy to use. PS. Simplehuman's packaging as well as Amazon's was excellent - no risk of damage in transit.

This has been our kitchen bin for nearly 5 years and I’ve been meaning to write a review for ages. It’s a great bin - there are some really nice design features, including that the lever to open the lid is on the top and works really well. The inner bin part is really well designed too, to make changing the bin liner easy. The oblong shape is more practical than a round bin. It’s looking good still. A great quality bin - worth the outlay!

My kitchen has recently been refurbished and I was limited for floor space. I therefore researched carefully looking for a neat attractive bin with a small foot bed but tall to take the 30L capacity. This one fitted the bill and although expensive I finally chose this one. The bin arrived promptly and was very well protected by packaging. The lid lifts easily with a gently touch of the hand rather than struggling with a foot pedal. Gone has the clanking lid closure. I did not remove a star for it being expensive because it is well worth it

Very expensive but excellent bins. Looks good and works well. Pity there’s not a slimmer version. It’s just a little bigger than I wanted. Would recommend.

Extremely sturdy and very smart. I've never had a fancy bin for which I had to buy special liners for but this works out perfectly for me. The liners aren't that pricey for their quality, and this size suits our 2-person household just fine - we cook dinner more than half the week and produce 1 bin bag a week. The touch bar is soft open - super strong and remains sensitive to a small amount of pressure. It's extremely hygienic and convenient when your hands aren't free. The entire thing is easy to clean inside and out. The metal bin has a plastic insert or inner bin that is very well designed at the base. There are vents to let the air out and allow the liner to sit properly inside, while being placed high up enough on the insert so any leakage doesn't spill into the metal outer bin (had one leakage from the liner since I bought it, but due to disposal of a sharp object, so our fault). The liner also tucks firmly and neatly over the top lip of the plastic insert so it stays in place, but doesn't stick out of the bin when it is shut. Most importantly, it makes my kitchen look more expensive :D

Other 5 star reviewers have said everything that could be said in this bin's favour. I love, love, love this bin. I MUCH prefer it to a pedal bin because the lid stays open when I need it to. Great height (I'm 5'7"), no stooping required. I'm finding it really easy to open with my hip or knee if required. I love the flat, plastic underside of the lid, the hinges are also plastic as is the rim; nothing to rust, easy to keep clean. The recessed handle at the back is very well designed. The internal bin has a nifty round hole at the back where you can tuck in the excess of your bin liner (I use biodegradable black liners). The bin looks very durable too (10 year guarantee: could you ask for more?). I will never want anything else! Can't recommend it highly enough.

I am really pleased with this bin, it looks attractive and is very sturdy and well made. It is expensive but well made and worth the money. A free pack of bin bags was included and they are super strong and fit perfectly but I felt they were expensive for refuse sacks, regular 30l refuse bags fit perfectly well so will be using those. Overall an excellent buy and a quality product.

This is a smart, compact, stainless steel kitchen bin. Although the capacity is stated as 30 Litres it is more than enough for a small household, provided it is emptied weekly. The top lifts off easily and waste bags of either the SImpleHuman or non-branded variety slip in without fuss and do not show. The bin opening is smooth and not clunky, although a little more force is needed ti close it. It is quite pricey, £79.99 at the time of ordering but it is well made, looks good and seems like it will last a long time. The .no finger prints' claim seems to be genuine and 10 bin liners were also included. Recommended.

HIghest recommendation for this touch bar trash can. It's a superior design to the foot pedal can. A pedal can requires mechanical linkage from the pedal to the lid, and this linkage has to make two right-angle turns at back and top. The joints of the linkage take tremendous force, because the pedal has only a short movement to cause a larger movement at the lid, and there are two right-angle turns the linkage has to make in between. What this adds up to is noise in the mechanical parts as they creak under the strain, and broken parts--the Oxo that this one replaced had plastic pieces in the linkage that just broke after a time, because they couldn't take the load. And it was a $100 can at the time I bought it. By eliminating all the connecting rods and joints leading from the pedal to the lid, you eliminate noise and broken parts. Another thing you need to know about this one, is that the touch bar does work. It's not tricky, you don't have to develop a touch--it works right away. Took me about 5 uses to get used to pushing down rather than lifting up--now it's like I always did it that way. Lots of times, when I'm at the sink or counter my fingers are sticky or wet and I don't want to touch the bar with them--I just hit it with the heel of my hand or wrist or whatever. It's actually more convenient than the pedal, in that your feet can stay wherever they are. Separate the can in your mind from the Simplehuman custom bags. You don't need the bags, and I actually prefer to use the 13-gallon Glad Force flex bags I've been using. When you buy the can, Simplehuman packs 10 bags with it, so you can try them out for yourself and see what you think. I find the Simplehuman bags a little tight--they make them that way so there's a tight fit around the top. But the Simplehuman bags are solving a problem that's not there in the first place. When I put the 13-gal Glad flex bag in, I just gather up the inch or two of extra until there's a good fit around the top of the liner, and then push the gathered 'extra' through a little hole that's in the back of the lift-out liner--you push it through the hole from the outside to the inside, and it ends up out of sight, out of mind. If anything, it's a little less annoying than stretching the Simplehuman custom bag over the liner, although neither present a problem. People are correct to raise questions about the bags, but truly, you can use whatever bag you want to use. The size differences--8.5 gal can versus 13 gal bag in my case--are meaningless. You don't end up with a sloppy fit, because it's easy to make gathers and tuck them out of sight. One reason I prefer to keep using the 13 gal Glad bags is that I can put extra stuff into the bag when I pull it out if I want--like refrigerator leftovers that need to go away. There's just no downside. It's logical that Simplehuman would want to sell custom bags, but pay no attention to the hype, you don't need them, or even want them. This can looks good. The coating they put on it does work. It resists prints and smudges--wipes clean immediately. And the touch bar lid is a vast improvement over the pedal. Edit: P. S.--To the reviewer who said his has a handgrip in front: The hand grip goes in back. Just lift off the top, turn the lower can so that the grip faces to the rear, and replace the top. Done.

This bin is perfect for small spaces, thanks to its slim design. It fits neatly into tight corners without sacrificing capacity. Endlich mal ein "sauberer" und eleganter Mülleimer, der sich wortwörtlich sehen lassen kann! Denn: es gibt in der Tat keine Fingerabdrücke! Zudem hat man die Wahl, ob der Deckel nun zu oder offen bleiben soll und die Touchfunktion zum öffnen - gerade in der Küche - ist ein Segen! Alles in allem hochwertiges Material, sowie präzise Verarbeitung: nichts knarrt. Alles in Allem super pflegeleicht und zudem in schickem Design.

Es muy práctico, no ocupa mucho espacio y está muy lindo.
