Q: Could i use this to gauge the shape of dolls house stairs

I would have thought it would be ideal for this purpose....I found it easy to use for my purpose which was to gauge the shape of a guitar neck...as long as the dolls house stairs are made from rigid material which is firm enough to push the steel strands to create the shape accurately.

Q: What is the height of the pins on this guage, please. I need to fit them in a gap about 1.5cm high. Thanks.

the height to top of screws that hold the bar is approx. 15mm. The height of the pins (including the bottom of the bar is approx. 8mm. Hope this helps

Q: Once I have gauged the shape can the tool lock the result in place?

Do not understand the question there are no locks if you push it against something the profile will change
