First I want to point out it's designed to be used as an assembly and is really versatile that way. My caged mirrorless Sony fits fully inside so I don't have to rebuild the entire set up to switch that camera to a lighter occasion. It's not really a limitation (the grips and bars can be disassembled and used), and rigidity is hugely important. The "versatility" that I would gain from piecing this together as in other modular options would only pay off with needing constant tightening.. and a pile of extra, unnecessary parts as your assembly grows and matures as the early pieces don't support the features you need. At least this remains a handy tool and pair of handles at worst.It's versatile enough that you can mount rails on the bottom for a tripod setup and on the top to connect a shoulder mount. It's pretty easy to run it with the viewfinder right where you want for video. It's extremely sturdy for being so lightweight.If you have or plan to get a lot of accessories and don't already have a lot of kit, you may want a couple of small cheese plates for your arms and shoes - maybe a large one for the base if you're loading up matte boxes and follow focus for stability.I use a rail assembly at the tripod mount level and lock the Neewer in with the built-in ARCA-style slide-in dovetails on the base (more versatility for positioning with a long base). It really comes alive as an assembly with a top-handle - plan for that.

I needed something like this that was sturdy, well built but not outrageous in price.This fits the bill perfectly. I have a few video projects where the cage and a handle I got for it separately will be exactly what I needThe handles and grips feel good, there are plenty of attachment sections for accessories either view 3/8 inch screws or hot shoe attachments.

It is exactly what I was looking for. I love the build quality and feel. It has numerous attachment points with all the needed sizes and types. I use it to attach an external field monitor as well as a microphone or wireless mic receiver. Everything just works as it should and also helps with stability with the handles. It's not like a gimbal so you will need a little practice to keep it smooth, but the handles for sure help. I am very satisfied with everything about this. All the attachment points and build quality are all pro. I am grateful to have this as part of my video production kit and if you are looking for a good cage with handles, I recommend taking a look at this.

This is a great cage, very competitively priced right now, against other similar cages. Super useful and versatile, infinite posibilities. Can be used with a phone or a camera, and you can add an arm, or they now have a newer version with the arm included, which I also have and love. This is a total Win 👍

Bought this and doesn’t fit either of the gripped canon bodies quite right, seems very tight. and it shows a camera that after researching also is probable to not fit well, seems like one of the photo shows plenty of clearance above the hot shoe which this does not have. Massive bummer, quality seems pretty good. Will try to get it to work

This really gives you some much more physical control. It is larger than I expected, and feels really solid. The grips feel great. It's definitely made a big difference in how I film.

Neweer has done it again with this well planned and implemented cage. It easily fits my Nikon D750 while remaining easy to hold and maneuver with handgrips that have a semi-pliable coating and are non-slip. The upper part of the cage has 2 cold shoe type mounting points plus multiple mounting holes in the middle and atop each handgrip. The bottom rail has a 1/4-20 mounting screw for attaching your camera with a 5 cm sliding position. On the underside of that rail are more mounting points plus a mini coin-type screwdriver that rests inside a dedicated slot. The cage can also be mounted, here, unto a tripod.Newer makes several accessories accessories that, by design, work seamlessly with this cage but any number of other manufacturer accessories also do the trick and work just as well. Thus my wireless audio receiver, shock mount and 1/4-20 mount lights as well as other accessories with appropriate mounting options have been easily mounted. About the only accessories that would not be easily attached are those clip-ons which cannot be fitted with mounting screws.Besides being useful for the attachment of multiple accessories this cage has also proven to be a real help when I've needed to move the camera in a smoother arc than I can accomplish than when simply holding the camera in my hands. I'm not sure whether that is because of the physics of the larger arc when holding the cage or simply because of the differences in movement as I've gotten older but it's definitely been true especially when using the back screen for composing my shots.All in all the Neweer Cage is a versatile rig which will help your set-ups where multiple accessories and/or steadier movement than can be accomplished when holding the camera in your hands is needed. Given its affordable price point I rate this cage a definite 5 star product.

I use it for setting up a monitor and transmitter. Surprisingly handy.

🙂 Per iniziare a fare qualche piccola ripresa di dettaglio, e per l’immancabile curiosità, ho preso questa gabbia della Neewer, marca della quale ho diversi altri prodotti, da utilizzare con la mia fidata Nikon d600, che nonostante gli anni spacca!Ma vediamola nel dettaglio:🚛 SPEDIZIONE: Acquistata dal venditore Yulonglong sul Marketpalce, l’ordine è stato spedito da Amazon e quindi arrivato esattamente come indicato. PS consiglio l’utilizzo del punto di ritiro, è comodissimo.📦 PACCO E CONTENUTO: Il prodotto è arrivato in una scatola di cartone che ne rileva non il contenuto ma la marca (non viene utilizzato l’imballo, quale esso sia, di Amazon). All’interno troviamo la gabbia, già montata, all’interno di due involucri di plastica, quello esterno pluriball, e le istruzioni, in inglese e cinese.🪛 INSTALLAZIONE: Beh, non c’è molto da fare considerando che è assemblata, si assicura la macchina fotografica con la vite da ¼ e fine!👉👉 Dimmi, quante volte dovevi stringere quella maledetta vite e non avevi nulla a portata di mano con il quale farlo? Bene, Neewer ci viene in aiuto ed ha previsto un piccolo cacciavite piatto, che si trova nella parte bassa della gabbia ed è magnetico, che ci toglie dall’imbarazzo! 😁🔢 CARATTERISTICHE: E’ solida ed ha un peso di 650 gr che non sono tantissimi ma, sommandosi alla macchina fotografica, dopo un po’ si fanno sentire, soprattutto se non allenati. E’ molto versatile, infatti grazie alle tante filettature da ⅜ e ¼ possono essere installati faretti, monitor e microfoni.🚀 PRESTAZIONI: Allora, sicuramente aiuta nelle riprese, che risultano più stabili. Certo, si deve prendere la mano perché, come tutto ciò che ci viene in aiuto, non fa miracoli da sola!😰 DIFETTI: Beh, se proprio si deve trovare un difetto, credo che l’impugnatura sarebbe potuta essere più comoda, magari utilizzando un materiale diverso, più soft. Ma qui siamo nel campo delle preferenze personali.👉 CONCLUSIONI: In generale è un buon prodotto, entry level ovviamente, che fa quello che promette.Il prezzo, invece, credo sia un po’ troppo alto, quindi consiglio di aspettare qualche sconto. In genere viene applicato un 10% di sconto con il coupon (che si deve selezionare altrimenti nisba), ma se puoi aspettare magari si riesce a spendere ancora meno.
