Great Dutch Oven!
I love that this Dutch Oven is the perfect size to make awesome no-knead bread. I love that I can put it in my oven at 450 degrees. I love that it comes from an American company. I love that it is just beautiful so I can leave it on my counter and it enhances my kitchen. I love that it costs hundreds less than the comparable item from the not-American company. (I also have the 6 qt version in the dark dark blue - also beautiful - so that I can make soup on top of my stove and bread in my oven at the same time!)

Love this addition to my kitchen - but it's a niche piece of equipment, for sure
I love the vibrant blue color! It's great for making meat stews in the winter. It easily browns meat, and then it's big enough you can throw in all your other ingredients to simmer (as long as you're only making 4-6 servings). Or if you're making not quite a stew but rather a bone-in roast with slow moist heat, this dutch oven is great for that too. It's also terrific for getting that yummy crust on artisan bread! But it's super heavy, the handles get hot and it does after all hold only 4-6 servings. All these drawbacks are acceptable for someone who cooks all the time, and you're using a dutch oven because only a dutch oven will do for the job at hand. But for someone who doesn't cook a lot, you probably want a more versatile piece of equipment.I'm knocking a star off because it really is tough to clean. :-(

great size for a family of 4
Very high quality, great size for a family of 4, and a beautiful blue color. I’ve made soups and roasted meat in the oven - all perfect. I roasted meat in a bottle of red wine and there were no stains after cleaning simply with soap and water. An affordable way to get very high quality enameled cast iron!

Bought for Baking No Knead Bread
I have a 6 qt Staub Dutch Oven that I use for everything and was using for baking no knead bread. I felt the 6 qt size was too large and the loaf spread out too much in the large oven. I wanted to try a 4 qt size and the reviews posted made this oven sound like just what I was looking for. The weight is so much easier to handle than my big 6 qt Staub, the bread seems to bake just as well in a much less expensive oven, and the no knead bread comes out the perfect size, a nice round boule! The size of this oven is such that you could fit two of these Marquette 4 qt. ovens on the center rack together if you wanted to bake two loaves at the same time. The handles are good for grasping a hot pot out of the oven and I haven't noticed any discomfort handling the oddly shaped pot knob that other reviewers have mentioned. Overall, for the money, a nice quality Dutch Oven.

Don't be dumb and dumber
This is our own stupidity. I am writing so no one is as dumb as us. The day my pot came, i was thrilled. Loved it and couldn't wait to cook a cornedbeef and cabbage dinner. But my dear husband read the directions on care...and decided to oil the entire pot down with an oiled paper towel. Inside and outside, with vegetable oil, even the lid. put it in the oven at 400 degrees for an hour. When we took it out, the oil had baked in drips, drabs, and drams in every spot on the pot.I was devastated. We tried washing it , baking it and cleaning it, nothing worked. I am out one of the most beautiful pieces of cookware I have ever had and it is all on us.So buy this beautiful pot,, but don't do what we did....Dumber and dumbest.
