Brilliant! Must-see TV!
The thing about watching Westworld was that every so often I would notice that my mouth was hanging open in the 'fly-catching' position. It's just incredible.I was drawn to Westworld - despite having thought the movie was awful - when the TV series started getting such unanimously enthusiastic reviews. My interest was further piqued when everyone I knew who had watched it all posted on social media that they wanted to watch it all over again from the beginning once it had ended. Having now finished it myself, I understand why. It's partly the nature of the story but it's also knowing that there won't be anything as brilliant as this to watch until series 2 comes out.Nevertheless, I still had one reservation - namely that in the movie the topic of robot prostitutes was treated in a laddish, giggling-behind-the-hand sort of way while the further ethical considerations were ignored. Such as - wouldn't being able to treat androids disrespectfully result in men being subtly trained to treat real women the same way? And do such lifelike androids really have no feelings to hurt & even if not, is is still okay to treat them so badly, since the crime will take its toll on the perpetrator as well as the victim? I was concerned that the series wouldn't address such issues. So I was very impressed when it tackled them head-on in the very first 10 minutes of Episode One.And that's where this series really delivers. It doesn't talk down to its audience. Ever. In addition to being unashamedly intelligent, it's visually stunning & exciting, with a plot which constantly kept me guessing while presenting intriguing questions & unsettling answers. It's both challenging & enjoyable at the same time. It's a unique series, flawlessly crafted in every way & utterly compelling. Kudos has to be given to all of the actors but it must be said that Anthony Hopkins is incredible.Westworld is up there with other HBO luminaries which always finish at or near the top of 'best TV shows ever'-type poles, such as The Sopranos & The Wire. Recommended with knobs on.

WestWorld lives again
I thoroughly enjoyed this first series of WestWorld. I found the many plot layers intriguing. At the end of the season finale I found myself wondering if everything we had seen in it was simply part of the new narrative created by Ford. Is the futuristic control center filled with humans or are they all robots who think they are humans? Have the robots achieved sentience or is this just another narrative within a narrative? The park is said to reveal the deepest desires of each visitor but those seem to be limited to sex and violence. Ford asks the chief story writer if the park reveal the inner nature of the visitors or the warped inner nature of the story writer? Does the park corrupt its human visitors or have they corrupted the park? And what about the apparently bland reality that exists outside the park? We never see it. Is the park really a park? Or is it a pseudo reality designed to control humans? It's a bit frustrating that the next series won't be available before 2018.

Why World
This is nicely entertaining and glossy at least initially but as the season progresses the absurdities detract from the enjoyment. Firstly, even at face value this story fails - there is no way the damage to the 'robots' and the sets could be fixed in time for the guest stories to continue nor could the safety of the guests be maintained. The larger robot storylines are for the benefit of no one and could be failed by far too many factors. ... and then there is the staff who are for the most part one dimensional idiots. All in all, it antagonises my brain and that isn't what I wanted from a TV show.

Stunning in all respects
A vastly successful invention of multi-layered, thought-provoking, highly intelligent (at times even intellectual) drama. Space, time, past and future - of man and machine - are all pondered, discussed, and dramatised superbly; questions of free will and fate are deliberated in an elegant and uncompromising fashion. A highly cerebral excursion, but never less than gripping theatre in every frame. If you like your stories to come with multiple layers of meaning, you will love this. If you want to be left with a feeling of having actually experienced something new - most rare in TV - you must watch this. Wonderful, wonderful acting by Anthony Hopkins (for my money his best part since Hannibal), Jeffrey Wright, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, and many other actors performing at the top of their game. Haunting, sometimes unnerving music by Ramin Djawadi. This amazing creation trounces almost everything else on TV. Simply stunning. Could there be another season of Westworld to match this?

EPIC
Honestly, one of the best things I’ve ever watched. Everyone involved in making this truly gave their A game the whole way through. I usually don’t like re-watching things Ive seen before but highly unusual for me, i got even more joy on re-watching as you spot all the clues they laid in to the future bombshell moments, and can appreciate all the details tying all the plotlines and meaning together. Just marvellous.

Somewhat Predictable, like watching a Jaws sequel
If you had already watched the early Westworld then you know where this is headed. It’s a bit of a newer variation, but still the machines and AI are watching and waiting in the wings venue. I liken it watching a Jaws sequel, the shark is still the key element but we see other psychological elements at play, the same is true here.

Great futuristic series and leaves you guessing! LOVED IT!!!!!!
loved it. Made better sense watching it the second time. Flipping back and forth through time had me confused while watching it on tv. But watching with a bit of knowledge as to what's going on still had a few great susorises and a great enjoyment like I was watching it for the first time. I'm sure this will be a series I will pop into that DVD and rewatching again. There are just some shows that are the type we can comfortablely rematch and this for us is one. It's so interesting. Lots of mini stories throughout each episode.. One thing that boggled me was the speed of how fast one gdead/injured person/robot was repaired and back into the store within hours. Looking past that I loved the little hint of the new logo for next season calls EW they slipped in there on one of the episodse Played on th X special menu, (east world) this seso. Was WW. Measning West World.) So I hope East world season

Bon article
Oui. Superbe premiere saison.
