A quick press of the button and that’s all that takes. I will note that the spring for the umbrella is definitely stiff, which is a good thing. You press one close and it will unfold, and then if you press it again when it’s open, it will close, but it will stay in the extended position and you need to compress it. It is definitely small enough to put in your car door or into a backpack. I haven’t had to use it terribly much yet, but it definitely did help on a few rainy days where I live. Can’t wait to use it more.

I bought this umbrella back in January 2024. After over a year of using this, I have to say this umbrella is well worth its price and might be one of the best I have ever owned. Pros: - Size: I bought the 54 inch version, which is the perfect size for both solo-use and sharing with a companion. My partner and I have rarely gotten wet while using this umbrella in even the heaviest rains. The umbrella also retracts to a compact length, and I often just leave it in one of the mesh cupholders on my backpack. - Durability: This umbrella is heavy-duty. It has been flipped inside out more times than I could count, and yet still opens and closes flawlessly. I can’t tell you how many Costco umbrellas I have burned through just because of windy weather, even ones with “air vents” to prevent flipping inside out. Cons: - Balance: When I first started using this umbrella, I thought it was very top-heavy and hard to hold. I wish the handle was a little bit heavier to balance it out. It took some getting used to, but now I can hold it just fine. - Cover: The cover was a bit hard to insert the umbrella back into, especially with the cloth lining for absorbing water. Mine ripped apart after trying to force the umbrella in, but since then it has been much easier to insert haha. Despite the cons listed above, this is a quality, heavy-duty umbrella and would highly recommend it.

Love it. Great size and really portable and easy to take around feels very sturdy and a decent quality. I like the appearance and it's not very heavy at all with it easy to grab and hold handle. However it can be a little hard to get back in the sleeve if you're type that likes to put it back in the sleeve

This umbrella deserves a review: My wife and I were headed to our son's graduation from the Police Academy. It was pouring rain. My wife was worried about her hair, so I was given orders to find an umbrella. I could only find one that was damaged... bent and shredded. So, holding what was left of the junk umbrella over her hair, I get her and her hair in the vehicle okay, but I was drenched and had to show up looking like a hobo. So after a long search on my beloved Amazon, I picked out this super umbrella. After unpacking it I first noticed the hefty weight of the umbrella packed in it's carry bag, it weighs at least double what most foldable umbrellas weigh. Solid. A push of a button and this thing shoots out, FOOMP!! It opened fast enough to startle me! WORTH MENTIONING: Do not open this thing pointed at someone's face. I have no doubt that it would bloody someone's nose! Anyway, I chose the smaller one but it's still larger than most mini umbrellas. The inverted spines work really well. It sheds water like a new wax job. Amazing. I tested it on this last rainy day with wind gusts up to about 25 mph.. It didn't even budge. I think the weight makes it more stable in the hand, so it doesn't feel like it's going to just get snatched out of the hand. To close it, push the down button to unlock it and it goes limp, place the palm of one hand on the tip, the other on the base and then firmly PUSH your hands together until it CLICKS (it's not easy, it takes a little effort) but all in all it's the best umbrella I've ever had... Because I chose the color black, the ship&delivery was fast (and that's saying something nowadays. Yup, it's a keeper! I'm getting another one for my wife. Next time it comes a monsoon, my wife and her hair are on their own.

This is a great umbrella for the price. It is light and easy to handle/carry. I like the fact that it is an invert so when I bring into work I do not drip everywhere. Seems to be good quality but I have only used once

These umbrellas are great. Perfect for in and out of the car. The water stays inside not all over the car. I have purchased about half a dozen of these and prefer the larger size. The smaller size would be for one persona and carried in a briefcase or larger purse.

Product is not as strong as they said. No difference between the cheap one and this. Waste of money. Not recommended

Nice umbrella works great in the wind and rain. Might seem pricey but wait till you see it.
