The big problem with many of these bucket mounted mouse traps is that they are constructed from plastic parts. The plastic parts are weak to begin with and only get weaker when subjected to sun, rain and snow. This unit alleviates all the issues with plastic units.I have a feeling that this unit will last me many years, rather than the other inferior plastic units that may work only 1 year or more than likely not even make it that far without issues.

Besides one hole not being punched making attaching the top having to skip one hole/tab there are other issues with the design and manufacturing. I thought being metal would be an advantage, but with the mass of the tilting portion being so high, the amount of force needed to move/ tilt is not ideal for this application. Mouse would have to weigh a lot to tip this thing. I have added weight to the one end to make the tipping action faster in hopes of making this viable but as it stands I have not caught a single mouse. Also, the shelf for the food is a terrible idea. It’s basically a safe spot for the mice to sit there and eat all the food - which has happened. Finally the hole in the middle of the tipping platform is another possible place for a mouse to get a grip and escape before falling in. I am giving this one more chance, there are at least a half dozen mice in the garage, if it doesn’t catch a mouse with the removal of the shelf and added weight to speed up the tipping action, I’m gonna return this.

This is a perfect trap and great setup. Works as expected and I am grateful someone came up with this idea. I tried making my own trap, and it did work, but not as much as this one. Nice job!

It does catch the rodents, but the quality is horrible.1) Spotty paint job.2) Poor construction. I had to use lots of glue to keep pieces together and retain the trap’s shape. The ramp is crooked, too.3) Horrible welding job. If you call it that—it may be just glue or paint that is holding pieces together.Conclusion. I don’t think this junk metal will last long. Try a plastic trap.

I bought this because it’s metal. Loved the idea. Put it together, it was pretty simple. The biggest part that disappoints me is that it doesn’t lay flat for the mice to walk on before falling in the trap. I believe this deters the mice from going to the top of the trap, and definitely prevents them from falling in. I’ve had it set up for a week now, with bait, and got nothing.

Very disappointed many hole for assembly not punched out,had to use hammer and screw driver. Shelf for bait clip broke off right away won't hold bait. Mice ate peanut butter off the ramp 1st night no catch. No luck at all. Would not recommend especially for the money. Probably good idea, maybe mice here too smart.

The trap was easy to assemble and is very sturdy. While the metal tabs ben and hold the pieces together, I secured pieces with packing tape. I put dry cat food at the rear of the top cover of the trap, inside, just below the arrow on the top lid. Setting food on the plank internally also was helpful. I plan to use peanut butter in a similar position to test which is more effective.Inside I filled the 5gal bucket halfway with windshield wiper fluid. If needed, weights can be used to secure the trap, but the liquid seemed to be enough.
