Save climbing a ladder when watering hanging baskets.

Purchased this so that my elderly mother-in-law could raise and lower her hanging baskets without too much trouble. However you have to lift the whole weight of the basket in order for the cord to drop down and even then it’s a bit fiddly. Spring is not very strong and you still have a lot of weight to lift to get the basket back in place. Unfortunately didn’t really help very much.

You need to be quite tall to get the mechanism to click back in to place after watering.

Really good idea, but does get stuck occasionally.

I’m not convinced this is actually a gardman brand it was not in any packaging the previous one I purchased from a garden centre says HiLo on it. I think I should have saved my money and bought the unbranded one.

I took note of the negative reviews and ordered just one of these hangers.It arrived in good time with reasonable packaging.When I opened it I extended the metal band (that's what it is) to make sure it was in working order, it failed to lock into position, I thought I'd bought a faulty one.I decided to try it on the basket bracket, it worked, it must lock when there's weight attached.Some tips, if you want to turn the basket, don't turn the basket itself, instead move it round at the attachment on the hanging bracket, past the mechanism, also operate the rise-low slowly making sure not to twist.This has saved me wobbling about on a ladder with a heavy watering can, it's a wonderful invention.I now water and feed my hanging baskets much more often which will result in a far better showing.I have also ordered 3 more of this item.I've not given 5 stars just because I'm not sure how long they will last, time will tell I suppose.Very, very happy with the purchase.

The fact that it won’t come down is really annoying. We bought it so that it would be easier to dead head and water, but it just doesn’t work!

I bought these late last year and have only just put up my hanging baskets and used them. They've been up for a week and i find them very useful. You do have to be gentle when raising and lowering them foir the locking system to work, so the key is to raise them slowly and they will work perfectly. The only small drawback I have with them is now my hanging baskets stand at six foot with these hangers. They used to be out of reach when the were on the hooks directly and because of the lengh of the hangers, they now hang lower, which kinda defeats the purpose of using them, but for dead heading and the such, they will come in very hands. My only advice to you before you buy them is to make sure you basket hooks are sufficintly high enough. I would highly recommend this product.
