1st Ordered a size up as others suggested and had to return as far too big.. Re ordered in my normal size and fits perfectly… L fits 42 chest.. if you want a snug fit go a size down..

Good, thanks.
Pleased with the jacket which was a present for my husband. He likes it too. I have only given it four stars as he has only worn it once when it was spitting with rain and don’t know yet how it does in heavy rain.

Nice enough jacket--but..
Overall the jacket is OK -once you get the right size. I ordered XL originally but it was very very snug--the 3XL I then ordered fitted just fine. The hanging tab on the jacket is just on the lining so in time may well damage the lining so I have used a proper hanger to hang the jacket up instead. Will be interesting to see how the jacket wears long term and glad I only paid just over £29 for it -not the £59.99 that it has on the tab that comes with it.

Looks the part, performance does not match.
Sadly a very disappointing purchase, I bought this Jacket alongside a couple of fleeces from Mountain Warehouse to replace some ageing outdoor gear. The Glen Fur and std Casual fleeces are excellent, warm, good weight, quality construction. The Torrent Jacket when unpacked looked the part, yes this is a lightweight outer layer designed for pack-ability not a heavyweight rip proof durable mountaineering but that is what I was after and on that score the Torrent meets the brief. If I am being picky, I would say that I would only be happy at the reduced priced I paid, the suggested RRP would necessitate a much more premium-made top than the one received. The real let down with the Torrent was taking the jacket out for it's real test, no, not a protracted yomp around the Lake District, a wet afternoon at Belfast Zoo with the family, easy right?Unfortunately no. At the first rain the jacket totally 'wetted out' and gave up on being waterproof, this I suspect comes down to two things, a complete absence of any DWR finish to the outer and atrocious breathability. Each drop of water soaked into the top layer of fabric, zero beading and although I wasn't working hard at all (keeping pace with a toddler, whose Mountain Warehouse Samson jacket I should say not only looks better than mine but performed a million times better) the inside of my jacket was also sodden, as though not a drop of humidity had escaped, I would liken the discomfort to wearing a coat made out of supermarket shopping bags only I suspect they would have repelled the rain better. This is my first and I fear last Mountain Warehouse waterproof as I have had better performance from jackets from other Manufacturers like Regatta that perform better at lower cost. A bizarre contrast to the fleeces and my son's Samson Jacket which I am rather chuffed with.
