inexpensive but hard work
I bought this to replace a 4-frame tangential I had bought on ebay about 5 years earlier. This came as described and was easy to assemble. - simply bolt the three legs to the frame, screw on the handle and screw the honey valve into the side. The main chamber appears to be of food grade material and the whole thing appears well made. The rotation mechanism was outside and encased in plastic so no moving parts were visible.I had 66 frames to extract so I got started - loading of frames was relatively easy. there are two sets of paired rings that the frames sit on and in. I started to crank the handle and all seemed to go well for a minute or so - it then became started to slow down and I really had to crank hard to keep momentum. The spring loaded handle kept popping out, meaning you had to slow down before you could reinsert and then start spinning again. I realise now that radial extractors take more time to fully extract than tangential ones - I think you need spin for around 10 - 15 minutes. I was sweating after cranking for 3! In the end I think I only managed to extract about 3/4 of the honey that my old tangential would have done.I think that the slowing down was due to honey buildup on the sides of the drum rubbing against the inner frame as it spun. I was also worried about how much stress the gear assembly could take - it's not clear how much metal is within that plastic casing. If I could keep the momentum up this would be much easier. It may be that with better balancing and better practice (and a hot day) I could have worked this more efficiently, but don't buy this thinking that it will be better than a tangential! Large scale beekeepers use radial extractors with motors for a reason.

Excellent value
Extracted the honey

Efficiency at is best
It would have been nice to have a radial 6 frame extractor but I received a three frame extractor. The frame is as I expected very efficient and easy to operate.

Excellent all round
Brilliant. Well made and carefully packaged. Performed well last summer when we were extracting full supers.Bargain basement price.

Fantastic product
Packaged really well, simple to put together, obviously clean it all out before use. 6 frames is ideal for me I currently have 7 hives. Not too large either!

Hard work
This was hard work and difficult to keep super frames in position. Bought and electric tangential instead, much easier.

It's OK
The unit it's self is wall made and the usual standard for an SAF productIt takes a fair bit of getting use too after using a tangential spinner. The first few frames all collapsed. I’ve been told that the radial spinners need spinning a lot slower and for a lot longer to get the same amount of honey out.The legs could be 2" longer to get my 45Kg bucket under the tap so I've added some wooden blocks to make it taller.I’m not sure I would have purchased it if I had known that before I placed my order. I was hoping to process the frames a lot quicker.I will persevere with it but am not yet convinced
