I was a bit leery about ordering a live plant through amazon... I felt like so much could go wrong! But, Costa Farms worked hard to prepare it for the rough travel.My plant came well wrapped in a saran-wrap type plastic. It was kind of a pain to get off, but they did a good job of thoroughly wrapping it up. It wasn't so tight as to damage the plant, but definitely firm enough to keep soil from spilling.The plant was larger than I expected; in other words, it was the size advertised. I'm all too familiar with products coming so much smaller than they look in the photos, but this beauty is about chest high on me, and I'm 5'9".The leaves are in good shape, and there's only a minimal amount of decay on the edges. In fact, a new shoot and brand new leaf recently grew and unfurled. It's so verdant... a beautiful vibrant green!The plant definitely needed a good long drink after being unwrapped, but I haven't needed to repot it yet. The one they send has worked well. It sits in the bathroom and drinks in the morning sunlight, and it's certainly a happy plant!I have noticed some sort of plastic dust or staining to the leaves. I don't know for sure what it is, but it's a white coating on the leaves that had already opened. I managed to get one cleaned off relatively easily, but the others seem to have held on to the odd residue. The new leaf shows none of that, so I'm hoping as time moves along the ones with the residue may fall off and get replaced with healthier ones.Overall, I was duly impressed by the quality. I got the plant on a deal-day sale, and I'm still shocked I got such a great, mature plant for less than a tank of gas.

As always before, this Bird of Paradise arrived in perfect condition.The packaging has been much improved over a previous large plant, so it was clean to unpack. The instructions were specific and helpful.I can't wait for it to bloom! I'd buy anything from Costa Farms without worry (I've bought six plants from them. I live in Washington, these are shipped from Florida flawlessly)

I got the 3-4 feet one. The box it came in wasn't damaged. The plant itself has some cracked and damaged leaves. I still enjoy it and I'm happy with it. I will nurse it back to full health and even with cracked leaves, it's very majestic and exotic looking. I like how it looks in my powder room. The price is fantastic for what you get. But if you're trying to buy it as a gift, and if you might feel that the plant has to be in perfect condition, then maybe buy the snake plant from this company, because this plant seems to not take well to being handled and has fragile leaves.

Exactly like the description. The leaves came perfectly attached one small one got clipped but other than that 99.99% of it was perfectly packaged nicely. They envelop the bottom part of the pot so you can easily remove the growing planner from the inside. Water it, and leave it out in the sun for a bit. It actually came with the wet rag on the top in the center keeping everything cool and moist.I still watered it anyways. Either way the planters are really nice. It allows you to use it and let the plant fill out completely and then in about one to two years later you can replant in a bigger pot and then reuse the decor pot somewhere else. It’s very easy to pull it out. Simply tilted sideways, grab more of the edges and pull out to water outside and then put it back inside the pot.Normally, I put saucers underneath it but it’s not needed for these because I can easily take them out of the pot water and then put them back once they stop leaking from the bottom and let it completely dry out and repeat. The leaves are healthy. And they look beautiful.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve had these plants for a little over three weeks now and the leaves are starting to wilt and die and rot because of the medium the plant was potted in.I’m just now getting around to repotting some of my larger plants and I was just surprised that the condition these leaves are in and when I checked the soil it’s because it was extremely moist even after three weeksI normally never make reviews, but I wanted to make this review just in case you are a first time plant parent, please repot these plants in a chunky soil immediately, something that’s extremely airy

She arrived looking a little beat up. Soil was moist on arrived and her roots look great. Her leaves have multiple areas of damage and browning. To be fair I’m comparing her to another Birds of Paradise I picked up from Home Depot a few weeks after receiving my Amazon order. I have her in a West facing window while I have my Home Depot one in an East facing window. Home Depot’s is a little larger and starting to sprout a new life. My Amazon plant is alive but not seeing any change or growth. We shall see how she maintains.
