Not as advertised

For $160, I was expecting a product that actually did what it said it could do--cool a room down. I have been without A/C for 10 months, and I desperately needed relief, especially with outside temperatures hitting the mid-90s every day.First, it takes approximately a gallon and a half of water to fill the tank, which should last you a while. Unfortunately, it doesn't actually COOL anything unless you add the ice packs and put it on the Cool function.Second, the instructions don't tell you that in order to activate the Cool function, you have to hold that button down for a good 3 seconds, where everything else merely requires a normal pressing of a button.Third, and most disappointingly...I'm afraid I must agree with those whose reviews that say that this unit does not cool ANYTHING beyond 3 feet away from it, even with both ice packs fully frozen, water circulating, and the fan on the highest setting.I have two 20" fans, and typically, what I have done is place one in my bedroom window to draw hot air out, and the other in my room, pointed at me. I tried adding the unit to that setup--it had zero effect.So next, I figured, maybe it can't fight against the heat with the window open...so I closed it, ran both fans inside, one behind the unit and the other in front, to maximize the airflow. Again, no difference at all.I know this, because yesterday, I turned the machine OFF, ran my fans as always, and went out into my car to cool off for a while. And when I came back 4 hours later, my room was at 86°. But...the previous 2 days, running the machine with both setups...the temperature in my room was STILL...86°.How is this machine supposed to cool a room--any room--if it can't even bring the temperature down a single degree, with everything to maximize cold air in full effect?All winter, with temperatures below freezing, a single $30 portable heater 1/4 the size of this unit kept my entire room a comfortable 76° day and night, BY ITSELF. Yet this machine, which costs more than 5 times that price and 4 times the size, given the help of two large fans, 2 frozen packs, and a gallon and a half of water...couldn't affect the temperature of that same room A SINGLE DEGREE, day OR night, over a 4-day period.Frankly...don't waste your money on this machine. I don't know what the answer to my heat problem IS...but for $160, I definitely expected this to at least give me SOME relief. Absolutely disgusted that it didn't give me even the TINIEST bit of relief, after all the setup time this monstrosity requires.

It puts out cool air because it is an actual evaporative cooler with water that wets the pads to cool the air. The only issue I have with it is the fan. On high it blows gently. You can't feel the air movement from further than a few feet. If the fan was stronger I think it would be 5 stars.

This product is not very costly, but it has some very negative features that made us do extra cleaning :( . Well first, as said in the advertisement, it is supposed to be an efficient air conditioner that is cools down the room quickly. However, after we assembled it, we had to wait for it, and water started spilling out and leaked all over the floor. This caused us to do extra cleaning and we wasted at least a gallon of water! So I recommend you don’t buy something like this. Next, the level indicator was malfunctioning and did not show us the level of the water inside the machine. This is probably why the water spilled! Overall, this product has no indication whatsoever, it ends up as a mess, and it is not like the advertisement at all. I’m sorry to the company of Grelife, but you guys have a lot of modifying to do on this AC if you want your business to expand.

I love it but think it is pricey for the size of room it actually cools down

My air conditioner in my townhome has gone out numerous times and this has saved me! It's very cool as long as you keep putting the ice in and making sure it has enough water and it's small so it will air conditioning one room but I'm in Texas so we're hitting triple digits and I didn't have to go get a hotel room because of this product! It's amazing!

Followed all directions. It did not cool the temperature in a small closed room by even one degree! It is also dangerous because the water tank is sealed, and there is only a small hole for draining, so it is impossible to clean. I imagine it would lead to a mold problem, and possibly even Legionnaires. I returned it.

Many good features. The lowest fan setting is very quiet. I leave a window cracked to let dry air in. That keeps the unit efficient at cooling the air. In a sealed room the air would become too humid to cool well. It’s a nice size. It doesn’t cool the whole room but at night 6 feet away on low I’m comfortable. I live in central New Mexico. It’s easy to fill, is stable, and has a settable timer.

Es fácil de transportar y al tener los botecito azules congelados este enfría por mas tiempo, lo único que se me hace un poco raro es que en ciertas ocasiones se deja de sentir la corriente de aire que genera

Muy bueno y enfría bien para una recámara mediana grande, llegó antes de tiempo

The media could not be loaded.  Es ligero y muy fácil de usar pero, PERO NO ME GUSTA QUE SU MANUAL SOLO ESTE EN INGLES, SI EN MÉXICO HAY MUY BUENOS CLIENTES AMAZON DEBERÍA HACER ALGO AL RESPECTO, sobre el producto la tapa del dispensador de agua venía rota de un lado y no cierra bien pero por suerte no es algo que afecte la OPERATIVIDAD DEL PRODUCTO, aún que si considero que el fabricante debería hacerlo con mejor calidad por el precio...

Funciona muy bien para refrescar, pero es muy ruidoso. Su modo "nocturno" no deja dormir porque se está apagando y prendiendo, y no tiene relación alguna con la temperatura ambiente.
