TopsMissile Strike, Multi, One Size

After a zt 0562 gifted to a friend a benchmade D2 710 given to a family member, I went the EDC fixed blade route with a Benchmade Adamas and a missile strike depending on the carry requirements. The 1095 steel has nothing to be shy off compared to D2 or CPM-cruwear. Sharpened to 40 degrees, it will hold its edge for a few weeks before an easy touch up is required (or not). As an EDC, I would say that the ergonomics are top notch. The choil is very prominent and the thumb notches adequate. This blade will be comfortable for small / feminine hands with or without gloves. Concealability is reaching its limit due to the overall length of the blade from tip to pommel though. Daily carry is doable though, nobody ever noticed a print, even in summertime.The blade profile isn't a true combat knife per say, as it has quite a stout belly and the length of the blade though is more utilitarian as it is factory delivered, single edge. For a camping knife, it is a much more versatile blade as it can complete small wood work. The coating is very durable and after two years of crates and boxes, I really doubt the blade will shatter in half.If your goal is pure defense, then perhaps sharpening it dagger style will do it for you.In conclusion, Kelly McCulley, the blade designer got the ergonomics of the sheath and the blade dead on. Hats off to you sir. Extrema Ratio Black Mamba could be an alternative, but I am positive the ergonomics aren't as good or the upgrade in steel worth it.

For being such a heavy knife (about 12 oz) it is also exceptionally agile and surprisingly easy to control; the grip is very ergonomic in both Sabre and hammer grip, and for controlled cutting tasks the angled finger guard behind the cut-out choil section makes that portion imminently usable as well, unlike many knives (plus the guard does an excellent job of protecting your fingers). Mine needed a bit of sharpening when I first got it to get to where it would shave hair and make thin paper curls. Got another one to abuse and play with a bit, and after chopping into a wooden fence post for a while, knocking chips out, it was still just as sharp as before. Given the weight and the slim blade geometry (spear point with a thinned top half for about 3/4 of the length) this knife would be devastating as a combat knife. I had it sitting on my table and clumsily just bumped the tip with side of my hand - the weighty knife didn’t budge, but it did cut a deep hole right into my hand that nearly needed stitches. Missile strike is an appropriate name for this as a combat knife.

I've owned this knife for a while now & absolutely love it! REAL full tang (obviously not a rat tail) & very well balanced... I would bet my life on this knife. Sheath holds knife securely for inverted carry. Holds an edge well. If they made a polished one for display I'd buy it immediately. Although it's a fighting knife (not a "fighting & utility knife") I use it to process food/meat just for the fun of it - that's how great this knife feels in the hand, you can choke up on the choil if you need to. Cross guard protects hand in the thrust. In the reversal I can rest my thumb comfortably on the skull crushing pommel if I need to. The jimping isn't overly aggressive enough to wear out my thumb. The man who designed this was definitely speaking my language/on my freq. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Well made Knife, arrived sharp and ready to use. The knife is well balanced and feels good in the hand. It comes with a good sheath.

I have several other Tops knives, and am sure this knife would have been of the same high quality and craftsmanship as my others. Unfortunately my package was stolen off my doorstep before i could see that for myself.
