"This is my grimoire. My own personal collection of..."
"This is my grimoire. My own personal collection of rituals and practices and beliefs and knowledge."I don't give many 5 star reviews. I save 5 stars for the books I read, and re-read not just because they are comfortable and familiar, but because I gain more from revisiting them. Not only does this book fall in to that category, I've recommended it to several people, and was so captivated I picked up the audio version as well as the tangible. My advice for those about to read Grimoire Girl is take a moment before you sit down to read, take a deep breath, and open your mind. This book isn't about agreeing with everything put forward, but the author, Hilarie Burton Morgan offers countless suggestions for how to take a journal of blank pages and transform it in to something more... not just somewhere to record your day and thoughts, but more... something you'll enjoy looking at 5 or 10 years from now... something you not only won't be embarrassed for your kids or grandkids to find, but you'll hope they will. This book is about taking note of the bits of wisdom you read and hear -- keeping hold of them, of thinking and reflecting on the things and people that make our lives special. For the devout Christians, don't stop short. (I'm a Christian, I read the entire book and feel I gained a lot to think about.). This book isn't trying to convert anyone to anything, but it is offering other ways to think about things.Like setting up a place in our home for reflection and meditation on those we love... there are a variety of words /labels that could be applied to such a space, but in the end, the core thought it a beautiful one, and until I read about the conscious decision to do such a thing in this book I had never thought about the fact one of my elders taught me to do just that.Hilarie Burton Morgan's reading of Grimoire Girl is a delight. An authentic performance, in many ways this entire book feels like you've sat down for tea with a friend who wants to chat about some of her favorite habits, and thoughts on life, with hopes it'll make your better in some way.

Good
A companion read to Burton’s Rural Diaries memoir, this book meanders its way through the author’s life, as she tries to explore the art of the small magics that make for an enchanted life. She explores the idea of making family grimoires, and the book is laid out as a recipe for one, with anecdotes and memories to illustrate just what she means.Sensitive readers may wish to keep a tissue handy since there are a couple of sad parts, but as a whole, the book is an appealing exploration of Burton’s grimoire philosophy. It’s a lovely read, filled with the magical ingredients that are sure to keep the reader entertained, while perhaps inspiring them to pick up a pen, and start their very own heirloom grimoire.

Speechless and inspired!
Hilarie has written something that I was able to really feel in my soul. As someone who on again off again practices, it brought to light to know someone shares the same ideology as me. I usually stop practicing because I start to doubt myself. Because like Hilarie, I find inspiration for my craft from so many ideologies and felt like that was all wrong. Inspired to get back to my craft with a new favorite book.

Sweet, Funny, Emotional, Good Read ❤️
I really enjoyed this book. It took about five hours to complete it. It was an easy read that kept my attention. I loved the recipes, list of books for future perusal. I thought that it would give more detail about how to create a grimoire. I realized I have kept one my whole life according to the writers definition of a grimoire, but I call it a journal. It was more of an auto biography that contained a few recipes and entertaining tidbits along the way. The cover is attractive. The print is easy to read. It is an attractive book. I would recommend it to others.

Awesome book!!
I absolutely love Hilary Burton Morgan as a special being on this earth! I REALLY love reading her books because you can hear her voice as you read, and I think that most of us find that quality in other books. She seems to open her heart and her head, invites you in, and then wraps you up in a big bear hug and takes you on a journey, sharing her secrets along the way.

Grimoire Girl - Hilarie Burton Morgan
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I read her first book, The Rural Diaries back when it came out in 2020 &loved it! So I knew I had to read this one.* A grimoire is a book of magic spells &invocations. Hilarie Burton Morgan recounts her life in the form of a grimoire.* Things like her friends, she references as her coven. Spells she references as letters from loved ones or affirmations she tells herself daily. It’s a very interesting way of looking at your life. I love how she made old witchery things into modern day things.* The book kinda lost me between the middle 40-70% of the books. It went more in depth with Greek mythology, astrology, planets, &goddesses. So if that’s your thing then you will definitely love this story!* The narration was great!! Her enthusiasm while reading it made the listening experience really enjoyable &truly happy.* I would definitely recommend this book if you are a collector, sentimental with material items &eclectic things or if you have a more holistic approach to life.Themes:* Friendship* Witchcraft* Motivational
