It’s way safer than other styles, like the ones they step into and fasten on top. He literally slipped right out of one of those while he had never slipped out of this one and he is walked outside daily. We are on our 3rd one after we started using it a year ago. He grew out of the first because he was still a kitten. The 2nd wore out pretty quick, with the padding breaking down within 3-4 months. We wash ours on the gentle cycle and hang to dry about once a month. Only the handle seems to fade over time. Because the padding breaks down, I had to sew in a chenille fabric lining on the inside because where the handle attaches started rubbing his fur out. But you have to realize our cat wears this EVERY SINGLE DAY for daily nature walks and car rides back and forth to work with me. The lining I sewed in solves that issue and that’s really the only thing I’d change about this harness is if it came with a soft lining. Other than that, it’s a reasonable price, fits safely and securely, is obviously comfortable for him because he only fights putting it on on days he wants to stay home instead of going to work with me, lol.
