I purchased this item knowing the personalized name necklace had only a 14K gold plated finish. I consider it to be at the same at the same level as costume jewelry - - not precious jewelry. The pricing was reasonable. It looks more expensive than it is. There were ample font styles to chose from. I bought this necklace intending to wear it periodically for only a several hours at a time. It appears very well made and will likely hold up IF only worn occasionally, not 24/7. To safeguard the polished finish of the necklace, follow the enclosed wearing instructions accompanying the necklace. A small card outlining wearing instructions or precautions came packaged with the name necklace. It’s advised NOT to sleep, shower, swim, spray perfume or hairspray or sweat profusely (example: gym workout) while wearing the necklace. I’ve had other jewelry with these same warnings. Those restrictions will not bother me. The necklace came well packaged in small box with a tiny jewelry polishing cloth tucked inside. I feel this personalized name necklace would be suitable for gift giving, particularly to teens, college students or young adults. There’d be no huge monetary impact if lost or damaged. I’m pleased with my purchase.

After loving the monogram necklace I got so much, I decided to go for my nickname as a nameplate with these guys and the gold is just as great as the silver. I’ve worn it a few times and I love how dainty it is, and how nice the letters look - it’s just like the picture. Today I wore it out for a date with my boyfriend and everywhere we stopped, someone complimented how cute it was. Love that nameplate necklaces are making a comeback because I grew up wanting one so bad but they were much more expensive then so this is cute and nostalgic all at the same time. Would definitely make a good gift, too!
