Very good tight belt
The belt is tighter than previous new belts, which is good because all belts will stretch over time.

One of the best, if not the best belt you can buy
First, this will now come labeled as a Continental Elite Poly V Belt with Quiet Channel Technology. For some reason Goodyear must have figured they were better off under the different marketing. The belt appears the same in every respect to my Gatorback belts from past purchases, only with different labeling. (the part number is the same)Second, this is for the 5.3 GM engines/trucks with the 145 Amp alternator. This will also be the appropriate belt for your truck if you are doing an electric fan conversion to an 05-up fan, and originally had an 105 amp alternator and have since purchased the 145 amp alternator and are going to install it. The length is 93" but would fit even better in my opinion if it was a 93.25 or even a 93.5" belt. My tensioner is still very close to the limit of how far it will go and still allow the belt to slide on to the idler pulley. Hopefully the belt will stretch slightly. My truck now has 195,000 miles on it and I have used the Goodyear Gatorback belts since I first changed them at 100,000 miles. I have gone through 2 now as I have changed them at roughly 150,000 and 190,000 miles when I was doing other routine maintenance. The belts at the time of replacement did not show any signs of cracking or wear other than having the printing wear off the back side. In fact I only changed the belt from the one I put on 5,000 miles back because I installed the 145 amp alternator and took off the original 105 amp alternator. No squeals or squeaks EVER!

So far so good
Can’t say much for longevity since it’s new but it’s a good belt so far

I will also say that I prefer this type of belt as it is a better quality than the Dayco that I had
Nothing will drive you more mad than a belt chirping or squealing. I tried every belt the Autozone, O'Reilly's, and Advance Auto Parts had and some would work for a little bit and then the dreaded noise came back. This was for a 2001 Chevy Tahoe LS v8, mind you. I know how to diagnose a belt problem and checked all my pulleys, replaced the fan clutch, replaced the water pump, the tensioners, and still no relief. I know if the sound still is there it is something else. Something more sinister. I did order this belt and since I put it on there no more noise. This has not come back since February and I've held off until now for this review because usually after a while it comes back. Nothing with this belt. I will also say that I prefer this type of belt as it is a better quality than the Dayco that I had. That Dayco did run quiet but then it started up making noise. This belt is a good one.

Great product, great quality, easy install and most important it stopped the squeal finally
So I have a H2 Hummer that started squealing a couple years ago is I replaced the serpentine belt with a brand new OEM quality belt, it fixed the problem for about a week or two and started making a loud squeal again, mostly when it's cold but other times too. So I researched quite a while and ended up ordering a gatorback serpentine belt, gatorback idler pulley, and gatorback tensioner pulley for a complete rebuild of the belt system. So they got here fast and I popped the hood and went to work, they'll eyes are easy to install and need no press or pulley puller to remove them, there's also plates on the factory pulleys that don't fit the new pulleys but they aren't needed so it's not a big problem. After replacing the pulleys and the serpentine belt the squeal hasn't came back yet so, so far so good and no problems and its nice to not hear a loud squeal whenever we start up the vehicleBC

No more squealing!
I was going nuts with the belt squeal on my 05 z71 pick up. I did some research, bought this belt and the squeal is gone. I have had this belt on the truck for months now. No noise at all, i am very happy with this purchase.
