You need to meet Pike Lawson… he is something else 😏I did find Jordan a LITTLE annoying at times but I do get her reasonings (I won’t say more to prevent spoilers 👀)This was such an easy read, a slow burn… but when it hits… it hits good!Penelope Douglas is one of my favourite authors, I love her writing, I love how she writes spice and romance …Would 100% recommend 🦩🩵

uh..
Read this book purely off its (somewhat) good reviews, and it’s safe to say it’s amazing! Definitely recommend. Tension was good, I enjoyed the length of the book, and their relationship was well developed. Would definitely reccomend!

Pike and Jordan
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5I was loving this book until Pike and Jordan could finally be together, and then he just annoyed me. I get why he acted the way he did, and it's completely valid, but he could have gone a better way about it.

Forbidden love, boyfriends father, forced proximity, age gap, slow burn.
I didn't enjoy this quite as much as Credence but it's still a decent read.Jordan meets Pike at the movies but soon finds out that he is her boyfriends dad. They end up moving in with him and the tension starts heating up between Jordan and Pike. Her boyfriend Cole is a bit of a douche and treats her badly and when they split up, he leaves Jordan in the house with his dad.The forced proximity and chemistry mean things get very steamy.Jordan and Pike are both extremely likable main characters. Her boyfriend Cole not so much.

Birthday Girl!
I devoured every word. The chemistry between the main characters Pike and Jordan were spot on!They have such a meet cute and watching the rest unfold has you literally on the edge of your seat. You can’t help but route for them even though deep down you know you shouldn’t be, especially under the circumstances…. But…. Oops. Oh well 🤣.I also love how he treats her and slowly shows her that she’s worth the world, even when he manages to make her mad at the same time 😅Overall a great read and I highly recommend!!

Angsty, sweet, taboo, age gap romance
I did enjoy this taboo, big age gap romance, although it did feel a bit long or perhaps a bit slow in the middle.I felt the anguish from both Pike and Jordan, especially where Cole was concerned. Their longing for each other was plain to see even though they believed it was wrong, despite their sizzling chemistry. It was sweet at times too and I did love how Pike and Jordan's friendship grew at the beginning. They both felt at home with each other and despite their age gap, it felt believable.Cole was an a-hole, he treated Jordan terribly considering they were meant to be best friends. I think what he did forced him to realise how much he needed to grow up.I listened to the audio, both narrators were very good. This was my first book by this author and I will definitely read more by her in the future.3.75 stars
