Used as a substitute for maple syrup in homemade ice cream
As a way to enhance the flavor and lower the glycemic index of my homemade ice cream, I switched from sugar to maple syrup. Though the flavor was outstanding, the price per unit was high and the texture wasn't perfect. It seems the 30-35% water content of maple syrup produces an icy texture, even with a very high fat recipe. Partly this is due to my condenser's inability to freeze fast enough, a problem with many consumer ice cream makers.Swapping the maple syrup with this maple sugar brought the price per pint down quite a bit. This retains the flavor of my ice cream while improving the texture. This sugar dissolves in liquid much easier than cane sugar and has a sort of maple brown sugar flavor in recipes. To my taste, I use about 20% less maple sugar to match the sweetness of cane sugar. I also increased the salt content of my base, which gave the batch a buttery, streusel like flavor. I'm excited to experiment with this sugar in other recipes. This seems like it would make excellent chocolate chip cookies.Being as I wanted a small amount to start with, this container of maple sugar seemed to have a great unit price and fast shipping. It arrived fresh and flavorful.

Great quality, delicious taste
We found this a couple of years ago bee-bopping in Maine and love it on oatmeal, pancakes, muffins, in hot tea and so many other applications. Very glad to be able to purchase it to stock our larger!

Good value for the cost
I have a love for maple bacon, cookies, anything with maple and bacon in it. My local stores do not carry maple sugar and a long time back I purchased some from Amazon. The product that I previously used is no longer available so I had to find a new product. I come across this and to say the least I am not disappointed.Yes, it's light and fluffy. It's not your standard crystalized sugar, but it has such great flavor. I wish I could get it in larger bags. I definitely will be purchasing this again.

Great taste
Love this maple sugar. I put it in my morning coffee. Big container, worth the money. It's a treat, so I don't use it everyday. Makes a good rub for grilling meat also. Added some spices and rubbed into some pork and chicken thighs and grilled. Caramelized really well.

Good Quality - - maple sugar. LIghtly flavored and finely textured.
Good quality maple sugar, good if you like a lighter maple flavor. We've purchased maple sugar from Michigan and Wisconsin which seemed to me a fuller maple flavor and a bit more crystaline . So it depends on what you prefer in maple sugar. Maybe it is the process they use or earlier tapping of the trees ? This maple sugar is light enough on maple flavor that you could easily use it in drinks as a sweetener as well as maybe some baking. It would not over power other flavors, so good to know that. I also dissolved some of the sugar (2pts to 1 pt hot water) and made some syrup to see how it worked. The resulting syrup was dark like you would expect and did have a more concentrated maple flavor, but not as prominent as Maple syrup we typically get from here in the upper midwest. All in all a great product and we are enjoying it. We also bought a 3lb (48oz) container of this same Maple Sugar here on Amazon.
