Works better than expected!
I was not expecting the Joe Presso to so effectively produce such a good result, better than espresso that is sometimes produced in various commercial machines by poor operators. The key is carefully FOLLOWING the JP instructions using fresh whole beans ground to fine using a good burr grinder (I am using a Fellow Ode V2 set on 1) in order to (importantly) get a consistently even fine grind. When I do this I get some crema on top of a complex and sweet true espresso, though, of course, still not quite what a good barista would produce using a real espresso machine, but still….an excellent compromise. So without an espresso machine this is probably the next best way to get some, if using the proper technique. A definite recommend!

That Crema!!
Holy cow, this thing works! Beyond anything the original Aero press can make, I was on the fence between this and the other one with the silicon suction spout at the bottom. After watching several YouTube videos and hearing the reviews, I pulled the trigger and bought this. The pictures here seem very sketchy, and it doesn't look 'as professional' as the other one, and the little box it comes in is very sketchy, but I believe this was created by 2 guys that ran a Kickstarter campaign. With all of that being said, this thing is the real deal and IT WORKS. You get 100x more flavor and nuance out of the coffee than with the normal Aero press, giving you a subtly sweet, chocolatey, coffee flavor that is very pronounced. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, though I've had some fresh brewed Colombian coffee right at a coffee farm outside of Bogota and I will always remember the heavenly taste experience in the mountains. This Joepresso gives you a very flavorful cup of coffee that you will enjoy and look forward to every morning. The quality is very high, with a silicone seal around the metal separator and the red plastic ring being strong and sturdy. The coffee basket is made for a large portion of coffee grounds, and is verry solid. The quality is high.As everyone has said, this takes ALLOT of force to use! Make sure your cup is stable on the counter, as you have to press down EXTREMELY HARD for the water to push through. Keep in mind to make good coffee it's about consistent pressure, so even if you can't push that hard, try to maintain consistent pressure, it will take you a minute or two of pressing to extract the whole tube filled with water. The crema, the crema, the crema! You can hear the crema hissing and foaming as you press, while your kitchen fills with the smell of a coffee house and the sound of coffee extraction. Your cup gets filled 2x more than the normal filtered aero press as this creates so much crema foam. Practically the whole cup is crema foam.I 100% highly recommend. You will elevate the aero press to new heights, giving your morning a jump start in quality and satisfaction

Espresso on the run
Love it. Use it or Fellow Prismo with Aeropress all the time. They both produce different but equally good cups. Be careful with how much coffee you use or how hard you tamp. Or hope you have enough strength to push the plunger and not destroy the cup or spill the coffee - lol.

Worthwhile for some
Personally happy to have this, but:1. It's not "real espresso," but I didn't expect that. The AeroPress isn't capable of manually producing the required pressure, even with the pressurized basket this product includes. There are some pretty complex hacks people have come up with to get there other ways.2. Pre-ground coffee was harder to produce something good with this method.3. A good result with this requires some physical effort for the average person. I've been using a fairly cheap blade grinder so far, which probably doesn't help.4. With the right grind, tamp (I bought a cheap 51mm tamper), ratio, & steady pressure, it can produce a nice brew with balanced flavor & significantly more texture than the basic AeroPress.I find that loading up the water in inverted method, then collapsing to minimize extra air in the press makes the pressing easier. You'll have to attach the shower screen and tamped coffee in the basket upside down, though.5. I mainly use it to brew about 120ml of a drink with nice texture, a blend of acidity, sweetness, good coffee flavor, slight bitterness, and 2-3cm of foam (some of which is actual coffee crema).6. Stir before drinking, it can make a difference.7. With the pressurized basket, this thing does an okay job of foaming warmed milk.**Update: with a cheap (CAPFEI brand, $7.99 here), unpressurized 51mm basket, pressing fresh ground coffee is a better experience. Joepresso.com sells one for $10. Minimal crema, but I'm more after balanced flavor, texture, & extraction.

This is the closest thing to expresso your aero press can make
This thing works really well for a fauxpresso. Yes its not as good as 9 bar, but if you are making milk drink its is perfectly serviceable. My tips would be use a coarser grind than your nomal aeropress grind. Aeropress grind is coarser than expresso but finer than pour over. If you go with a slightly coarser than normal grind it helps with having to push so hard while still extracting good flavor. So my local shop grinds my aeropress at a 9, I'd go for a 10 or 11. I found a really good youtube vid where a guy was breaking down how to do it well, and he found a grind where he could press through in 30 seconds with moderate pressure.

They work well, but they don't have long life.
These devices make an excellent cup of coffee. When new you can get a decent creama, and the coffee is very good.I have purchased two. Both have failed in the same way. The red plastice filter cup older develops cracks and the loses the ability to seal properly. It would be great if they made the parts available as seperate items. They last about a year. The foil and the stainless filter cup will last for ever. I would pay more happily for a milled or cast aluminium filter carrier.
