I bought this product because my hearing is bad. My insurance will not cover hearing aids. I am a medical assistant and when the doctor is wearing a mask it was very hard to hear him. I thought the hearing aids would help but it just enhanced the small sounds and mad it more noisy so I couldn't hear the talking. It enhanced crinkling of paper and things like that. Not helpful then when I tried to return them it was past 30 days and they would not let me return them.

I bought the Lucid engage OTC, I’ve tried other brands like Audian and Nanos (nanos suck, made to fail to keep getting your money.) anyway these lucids were a pleasant surprise. They are very comfortable! They have an app that is easy and effective to use. And most of all, I can hear again without saying what? I wore to church today and heard every word. My wife is happy also that she doesn’t have to repeat herself anymore. They come with wax filters, have 4 programs. You only need one! And with the app you can adjust to your liking and save it. I am very happy with these. Also they are very small and not noticeable. The lucid shape part of the app lets you adjust and program several different frequencies ranging from 250 up to 8000. You may want to go to hearingtest.online or use the Mimi app to test your hearing loss 1st before buying these as they aren’t for severe loss . Mine is moderate. I also want to mention I bought the battery powered version. Rechargeable sounds nice and convenient but the price difference swayed me. Good luck and I hope this helps!

I posted the review below and I’m amending it in regard to durability. Last week while traveling I wore these again since my rechargeable ones weren’t charged. I could not ge the left one to work. At first it seems really faint, then after changing batteries, it wouldn’t turn on. This was driving me nuts. Today on a calmer note, I used the tip of a knife to slightly bend the battery contact fab out and it started working at least. Volume is still only about half so I assume I need to buy a wax guard tool and replacement wax guard. Overall though, for the very short period I have worn these, I’m amazed that both maintenance issues developed so soon.I ordered these because my regular hearing aids have been in the shop twice now in the last two months for two weeks at a time and I wanted a backup pair. First the good: They are plenty loud enough and easy to set up. They have options that are easy to set as far as which spectrum and I can customize just about everything. The Bad: They are HORRIBLE at the dreaded "feedback" whistle! I wear glasses and frequently have to adjust these (and most hearing aids) to keep them on the outside of my glasses temple. The only problem with these is that whenever you put your hand near them they scream out with that high pitch whistle noise. I remember 40 years ago wondering what it was like for all of the "old people" wearing hearing aids to have to listen to the loud screeches that they always used to give off. Unfortunately this is still kind of that same technology. I am torn whether to return them or keep them as spares, which is what I bought them for. They did the job for what I needed, but not as well as I'd hoped and I am not sure I'll ever really use them again if I keep them simply for that reason. If I was in the position of needing something and no insurance and very little money, would I buy them again? The answer is probably "Yes". They're good enough if you really don't have other options, but if you can afford $1,600 that Costco or Sam's Club charges then I'd say no way would I buy them again.

I wasted $4,200 for a similar set of Lucid units. They worked for a while but then died after the warranty expired. Those did not have Bluetooth. These over the counter ones are just as good. The Bluetooth isn't perfect but works when needed. Just be sure the phone app is open first before you pair. Don't waste money on expensive units, just get these.

Very simple don’t buy them

I never buy Lucid again. Ite App is very limited, mostly basic volume. They do not stay connected to Android phone. 1st failed in warranty and 2nd failure was beyond warranty, that's when I should have changed brands. Worst thing, the service center is usually not staffed since turnover of techs is often, thus your on your own with a &4000 price of junk. BTW if you try to chat with Lucid tech serv, no one will respond.

Not sure what the fascination with tiny is. But to me it just seems over the top. They are in my opinion way to small! Old people with less dexterity and poorer eyesight. Now I need to open the battery door to turn off my hearing aid? I live in Indiana and when it’s freezing cold any color clothing if fine. I just want to hear better. Don’t give a crap what it looks like! Use the same guts and put them in a larger over the ear rechargeable aid. Something your great grandmother with little to no dexterity and bad eyesight can handle. I’m a driver in and out of my truck all day. Have always left my 1200 phone in the truck where it was safe. Can’t do that anymore. Get to far from my phone and aids loose connection. Sound quality seems great and these other issues ruin it!

You can hear feedback and applicationIs limited. They are very small and connectivity gets disconnected on Bluetooth. I hope they can have better application that you have more options. Just like more expensive hearing aids.
