Lining structures first a good idea i think!
I lined the polytunnel inside first with fleece which i use to grow my tender plants in? Plants do not usually require loads of light because most plants are quiescent in winter but warmth is still required especially for tender subjects to prevent death from extreme cold and frost. Perhaps if people did this ie lined their structures in the first place you could save money as well as heat! I have one of these heaters now and it is quite easy to use, no problems encountered so far. At the time of writing it is minus 5 outside and the beast from the east is raging the heat is on and the temperature is maintained inside at 13c/55 F Excellent. I will be putting another skin on the original skin of the polytunnel soon so it will have a double skin thus given the structure even more protection for the winter to come in 2019. It makes sense too to have a back up heater as well just in case! Kind Regards.UpDateWinter 2019 no problems encountered so far just had -6 here! Heater easy to use once thermostat setting sorted out just takes some time, trial and error to get things right. Heater mostly on at the lower setting now because the structure is pre-lined with fleece. N.B. Only plants in full growth or in full bloom will require good illumination at this time of year others will not as they are in a dormant state ie resting now for winter.Kind regards.

Needs longer lead
Used to maintain low heat in greenhouse but since arrival have not had really cold nights to test it properly. The lead is only just long enough to place the heater on one place on the floor!Unfortunately although it works perfectly on fan only, when the heater is switched on after a few minutes it trips the RCD switch. I have an appointment with my electrician to test it.The electrician has now tested it & reports that the heating element is shorting to earth. Please advise.

Early testing has worrying signs...(Updated Nov 2017)
So far I'm not impressed with this product. I've had electric fan greenhouse heaters in the past, and have always been able to fine tune the dial so that I could keep the temperature in my greenhouse overnight to at a minimum of 6 or 7 degrees. So far with this heater, even the deftest of touches to the dial results in huge swings in temperature (huge in terms of greenhouse heating control) from 2 degrees one night to 12 degrees the next. I don't want to lose my plants to frost but likewise, I don't want to be literally sending money through the greenhouse roof. I'll keep experimenting and will update this review if I manage to somehow find the sweet spot. But at present, I'm thinking of purchasing a more expensive heater with better control.UPDATE Nov 2017As promised an update after several weeks of use. Happy to report I eventually found the right place on the dial. The temperature is now kept at a steady 6 or 7 degrees which is what I was after. I still feel the sensitivity of the dial is too delicate, but at least it works as advertised, and it is doing a good job now - so I've changed my rating to 4 out of 5 stars.

Simple and effective.
Great little heater. Have used it in my largish greenhouse (20' by 15') and set it to go on at about 3-5 degrees (just need to experiment a little with the temp dial). We have had two frosts here over last few days (about 1-2 degree c) and it's gone on when needed. It's great you have a choice of setting from 1 or 2 kW as not sure this was clear in ad. This saves unnecessary energy costs. At the moment mine is on 1kw.

Good robust heater
Works well and quiet. Robust elements should last a while.

"Thermostat" isn't
We've had this for a while now and, although it works well when it works, but the thermostat is iffy. It seems to hold the temperature a fixed amount (depending on where you set the dial) above the ambient temperature. So when it is 5 outside we settle it to keep it at 10, then it drops to 0 and the heater keeps it at 5 - and so on. So when we had the very cold weather (-5), it kept it around zero - which is not what we wanted. I intend to query this with the sellers. Will update when I have heard back from then.Update 1. Their reaction was it is out of the 30 day warranty and had I read the instructions (I had). Helpful eh? I suggest that this is not worth the moneyUpdate 2. No further contact from the seller. On balance I would NOT recommend this unit as a greenhouse heater. It is too expensive and the lack of a proper thermostat means it doesn't do the job it is sold for.

Great little greenhouse heater
I wanted something to keep my greenhouse frost-free and this is doing the job on a very low setting. Seems well made and safe for intended use.

Three Stars
Didn't work at all. The company gave an immediate refund though.
