No reading just symbols
LOVE this game. I have bad eyesight so 5 player games are hard to play when trying to read across the table. Also have friends with language barriers. This game is all symbols, a simple yet complicated game. Good at 5 players and 2 players. Nice range.

Fun Simple Engine Builder
My wife and I have played this 4 times now. I have really enjoyed each play. The game is relatively simple to pick up and play, but offers some interesting choices to keep it engaging. I also love the whimsical and high quality art, which is unique on all the cards. I can see it becoming a bit stale after a lot of plays however, but maybe that is something an expansion may fix in the future.

Great Game
Rules:Easy to understand and are roughly mid-level in terms of complexity. The rulebook is comprehensive and well-structured, facilitating a quick understanding of the game. Teaching Rauha is a breeze, with players grasping the mechanics after the initial rounds.Components:The components are good, featuring thick cardboard and decent cards. The cute wooden meeples serve as player avatars. The art is a nice touch, with intuitive iconography that becomes clear after just a few turns.Gameplay:The core gameplay revolves around drafting cards to either enhance your tableau or convert them into valuable resources. The mechanics unfold as different segments of your tableau operate on each turn. Notably, every fourth round, you exclusively activate the parts you've upgraded, adding an extra layer of strategic planning. The divine entity cards introduce a competitive aspect as players vie for their benefits which can make or break you. The confined 3x3 tableau size compels players to choose a strategic path and execute it with utmost efficiency, offering varied scoring avenues for a dynamic experience. Each card draft presents a challenging decision, compounded by the dilemma of where to place it. The constant internal debate of improving your engine or pursuing points, coupled with the awareness of your opponents' potential gains, creates a good time.Clocking in at around 45 minutes, Rauha is a great game if you are looking for something visually appealing and a little different. Recommend it!

Simple to learn but you will make some hard choices along the way!
Rauha (pronounced Row-Hah according to the publishers rep) is a tableau building/card drafting game that, while easy to learn, will have you making some tough choices to get ahead. It also, is a quick game making it perfect for new gamers to learn as it doesn't overstay it's welcome at the table.I was going to go into an in depth gameplay review, but other reviewers have already done that (and done a great job) so I will focus on high level information starting with the components. They components are well made with a few things I would have loved to see improved. The player boards, divine entity tiles and satellite boards are all heavy duty cardboard and don't feel cheap at all. The player tokens as well as the spore tokens are nice wood bits that are screen printed. They look good and have a nice feel in the hands. Each player token is also a different shape, which, while not necessary is a nice touch. Which is why I don't understand why the ONLY tokens in the game that are cardboard are the crystals. Huge miss on the part of GRRRE games to not have plastic/resin crystals in my opinion. The cards are decent quality card stock and should hold up to multiple plays. All of this is held inside of the game box which, after everything is punched and bagged (bags are included!), is much too big. This is a game that would definitely have benefited from an insert (or a smaller box). You are shaman(s) each trying to bring life back to your devastated land. The gameplay itself is easy to pick up. The rule book is only FOUR pages, with one of those pages being solely for setup! We were able to get into the game very quickly (especially with the handy reference sheet that goes over icons and divine entity powers as well as a game turn overview. Game play is relatively quick as well. This is in part due to everyone drafting cards at the same time before each player then takes their turn one by one. There are twelve rounds but they move quickly with scoring happening each round and bonus scoring after every third round. Don't be fooled, while it may be quick and easy to learn, you will be making tough decisions. Do you go for matches or burn your cards for resources to use later on? Which card do you pick each turn? Lots of different choices, and most are not as easy as you would like them to be! The only downside to the game play is that, if you have a large gap in scoring, it is hard to catch up to the leader.Overall, we really liked this game. It was easy to learn/teach, played quickly (about 45-50 minutes with 3 of us) but wasn't light on gameplay decisions. My minor complaints aside, this is a great entry game for new gamers as well as having enough depth to not be boring to experienced gamers.

So fun!!
My spouse and I have been playing this game on and off for a while now and we really enjoy the gameplay! It’s easy to learn and rich in details but not complicated to understand. This is best played as a 4 player game but we still really enjoy it as just the two of us. Highly recommend!

We tried... We really did... Makes no sense at all
Three sober adults and an 11yr old couldn't figure out the directions of this overly complicated game. We've gotten games similar to this where they are more complex and have had fun with them. The instructions on this game are absolutely awful and make absolutely no sense what so ever. We couldn't even figure out how to start the game, the first round! We spent over an hour just trying to figure out what we were supposed to do on step one and no matter how many times we read it and started over from the very beginning reading everything in every document... It just left us even more confused. We just have up, by far the worst game we have ever tried to play.
