I love ,it's a good book.Recommended

Very glad that I pre-ordered this book. It is an absolutely wonderful companion to his earlier project, "Timeless Paris" and, yes, you need BOTH of them. There is a visual affinity between the two books, including the lovely illustrations by the author, as well as his mood boards (total eye candy), and thefull-spread-full-bleed descriptive photos. Like "Timeless" this is a book that I will keep out and look through when I want a reminder of the beauty of worn well-loved things and unexpected discoveries. Although this is clearly a visual book, with the emphasis on endless photos, I enjoyed the word play very much. Reading that some of his favorite artifacts were "endowed with soul" reminded me of one of the joys of collecting: Namely, feeling that a particular item has been literally waiting for us to discover it and bring it home. I resonate to many of the author's favorite collections, and join him in searching for ex-votos, tarot cards, old wooden mannikins, fragments of santos and altar figures, plus my husband has an exceptional collection of old globes. But now I've become envious of the crusty old paint palettes, plaster casts, and obelisks. Endowed with soul, indeed. Flaws and imperfections are happily celebrated, as evidence of the past lives of these wondrous objects, and every item tells a story. Allow this savvy collector/curator to take you along on his rounds. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!

Amazing tome highlighting the popular Paris vintage collections!

This book is full of moody, inspirational images of amassed collections. The items collected range from everyday objects to more valuable items. The heart of this book is the size of the collections and how they are displayed. I would have loved to know more about many of the collected items specifically but the beautiful images make this book one I keep on the top of my book stack and reach for to flip through often. Something different catches my eye each time.

This is for a birthday present for one of my daughters so I cannot review from personable experience! However we both read article in Homes and Antiques about the author and were impressed which led said daughter to request for birthday present!
