Good product at a reasonable price

Bought a Braun S3 in December 2022. I don't have a particularly heavy growth, but I shave at least once a day. It gave me an excellent close dry shave in 5mins with no irritation, but by October it was taking at least 15 minutes & was not quite so close. Braun recommend changing heads, (theirs, not mine) after 18 months, but shaver light indicated change needed two weeks ago, so I bought a replacement head. No complaints, perfect fit & superb close shave in 5 minutes again. OK, replacing heads every 11 months is not ideal, but for me, having a dry shave as good as my old wet razor makes it worthwhile & it's cheaper than blades & shaving gel!

For so long I've hesitated because of the price to replace my foil shaver head but finally decided to purchase after seeing there was no other option. Just from the reviews, all third-party, off-market foils are poorly designed and simply a waste making paying for an original replacement worth it in this regard. The difference in shaving a new and original branded Brau foil provides is remarkable! I've never realised how flat my foil had become after its prolonged use. This new replacement blade, apart from subtle colour differences, is an exact replacement for Series 3 blades, for me a 3040 shaver. The foil immediately delivered smooth shaving again, picking up face hairs the first-time without needing to go over particular areas. In all, I see some justification for the price. Although costing nearly as much as a new shaver on sale, the foil lasts extremely long based on the hundreds of shaves and quick, reliable results.

I hadn't replaced the cutting head on my Braun shaver for about 5 years. I only did so because the original foil wore through in several places and started cutting my skin when I was shaving. But I had also realised that the shaver's performance wasn't as good as it had been when first bought and it was taking an age to shave properly. So I found a replacement head on Amazon, ordered it one evening and it arrived at my local collection point within a day or so. My shaver now works perfectly again! Efficient, quick and no cuts! I've decided it was a false economy to continue using an old head for too long as the new foil and blades are so much better than the blunted blades and damaged foils of the old head. In future I'll replace the whole head every year or two. Lesson learnt!

Why did you choose this product over others?: Well I made a decision a couple of years ago to try a similar Product made by another country, which was a couple of pounds cheaper. I noticed straight away that the quality leaves a lot to be desired. Also was not as sharp and before long I found the longevity was poor. So I bought this product from the original manufactures, Gues what WOW the difference was amazing I now have a smooth and quieter shave, quality of the item 1st class. Lesson learnt.... I did not realise that the old head was so blunt. Now I'm getting a much closer shave. I only knocked off one star as I think it is expensive as you now have to buy a complete head. I used to buy a foil or a cutter both were easy to replace, now you have to change the whole thing and throw away the body of the head which has nothing wrong with it.
