Thunderbirds Monopoly Board Game

Although the game is played exactly as you would with original Monopoly, the Thunderbirds slant on it does make it a 'new' game and extra exciting. We really did love playing it over Christmas which is when we received it and we will be getting it out to play again and again. The pieces are silver metal and beautifully detailed although the Thunderbird Five doesn't stand up and is difficult to pick up. We enjoyed seeing the photographs and references to episodes that we know and love. We felt that it had been well thought out with the use of Thunderbirds to make the game so enjoyable although, like other people, we thought that they could have carried the theme over into the money. The only thing that we were not too keen on was that the board and box has been designed to look like it was made fifty years ago and been played for that amount of time so it is faded, pixelated and has mock damage to it - for us, that is not right because we look after our stuff and if we had owned it fifty years ago and played with it, it would still look almost as good as new. We do wish that the Monopoly people would stick to the original money colours - we have several special editions and the money changes colour each time - it is very frustrating and for sight impaired people even more so I would imagine. All in all though, it is an excellent game and we were thrilled to find it and play with it.

I collect themed Monopoly sets, but I also play with them, and this 50th Anniversary Thunderbirds Monopoly was at a price I couldn't resist. Plays like standard Monopoly with a couple of twists: Chance and Community Chest are replaced by FAB and Yes M'lady, the iconic streets are replaced by locations of adventures from the series and the tokens are Thunderbird's 1 through 5 and Lady Penelope's Rolls Royce. We had a lot of fun with this whilst running the DVD's of the TV series in the background for a bit of atmosphere. My only criticism is they could have printed the money with the faces of the International Rescue team plus two of maybe Brains/Lady Penelope/Parker/Dad - not worth knocking off a star though.

If you are looking to buy this Board game it makes a nice change from the traditional London version and is just one of several other locations and themes.

Bought this as part of my Christmas present and I am really pleased with it. I especially like the way each location has the episode it appeared in on the board, although I do agree with other reviewers that the money could have been Thunderbird themed as well. However, this is only a minor quibble and doesn't spoil what is an excellent edition of the game.

As a big Thunderbirds fan this set isPerfect, the names of the squares, cards and pieces are all on theme. To make it even better we combined this with my Matchbox 1992 Thunderbirds toy set to really bring out the nostalgia! Great set and would recommend. :-)

My son loves playing Thunderbirds monopoly, he is Thunderbirds mad.

This being a limited edition of the monopoly board game will be a pleasure to play. It shows that the TV show is still a cult classic watched today.
