Microsoft Office 2010 Starter for Windows 10, 8, 7 [Word 2010 & Excel 2010 Starter]

If you just want MS word / Excel and don't want the bells and whistle that comes with microsoft office product then this product is for you. It's value for money considering the cost of the MS office 365 is £79.99 / year.However, installation is not that straight forward for Windows 10 (be it a clean installation of Windows 10 or an upgrade from Windows 7). Microsoft effectively remove the office starter software in Windows 10. In order to use the office starter software, a patch has to be installed afterward to make the 32 bit software compatible with Windows 10. The seller I got the office starter from has got the patch package into the deliverable.Also, if MS office 365 is already installed but expired, the installation of office starter software will not work. You have to unstall MS office 365 first then install the office starter.

This is stated as being supplied on a USB pen drive ............ it is on a CD which is fine for a PC or laptop but other devices do not have a disc drive which makes it difficult to install.The CD once run crashed Win 10 latest update and required a reboot to allow Windows to correct the problem.Now it is installed Word works perfectly.

Requested help twice. The second time I was told the problem is probably Norton Security and I don't do Norton. With outside help I have now got it working. I hope it survives the next round of Windows updates.

If a simple version is what you want this will do the job.But a few features like 'view' for example are not available,also this version will display Microsoft commercials or productson the right hand side continuously. Delivery outside England was quite fast,four days in my case.

ONCE I WAS SENT THE CORRECT VERSION , IT WAS EASY TO INSTALL AND WHOLE PACKAGE IS NOW IN USE. HAVE STOPPED USING BT FOR READING MAIL - MICROSOFT OUTLOOK IS MUCH MORE RELIABLE AND QUICKER.

It was, as warned, a little tricky to install with Windows 10. However, I now have it up and working and as I have used this before, I am glad to have it once again.

Good value, but excel lacks data menu which means no pivot tables plus many other useful features are lacking. I know this is a starter version but this should be made clearer.

Purchased this item because I was not prepared to pay £100 ? for the Microsoft full version. I probably only used 5% of the features on the full version so it did not make sense to choose the full version. It works very well and is easy to install as long as you remember to right click to bring up the drop down menu with the "install as administrator" option. I tried 3 times to install the program by left clicking which failed on stage 3 of 4. I phoned the help line where Alex pointed out my error and successfully installed it. Having used the program several times to write letters, the only feature I miss is the "auto name and address button". I am very pleased with my purchase.
