There was a very small black mark on the frame but it came off with my finger nail, leaving the surface flawless.Fittings were already in place to allow the mirror to be mounted portrait or landscape (see picture). I had also bought the "Heavy Duty Mirror Fittings" suggested in the "Buy it with" section but these were completely inappropriate, since (a) there were already fittings on the mirror and (b) the fittings on the mirror have a rounded top to hang on a screw, rather than the flat top needed to mate with the wall hooks from my extra fittings.
