I’ve repaired shoes where I couldn’t stitch the leather panels easily, used this glue. Also used it for some vibram soles that were separating from the midsole on some Belleville boots - worked perfect. Used on some rubber gasket material for a subaru wheel arch molding kit where the adhesive tape was failing. Have used both methods - put it on, let it dry a bit (about half hour), and press…. And also put it on wet, immediately pressed and kept pressed for 24 hours. That works too.
