I have been using this for a year now. It is AWESOME. We have to lock all the food up in our house so my son doesn't eat it all. Hasps and chains and locks take too long to manipulate and are too hard to remember to put back on. The directions are pretty darn poor. It literally took me HOURS to figure it out. I installed another on another cabinet and it went much more quickly that time. Essentially you have to drill one largish hole and 2 small holes for screws. You have to have something for it to catch on and you have to have a slide bolt to secure the opposite door to. This and combination door knobs have improved my quality of life greatly. Update: Died at about a year and a half. Still worth it in my opinion. We used this thing multiple times a day every day. For the price it can't be beat. We are using this for an escape room that we created in our home for our daughters bday party. I agree with other reviewers to an extent that the directions could be a little more user friendly but reading it a couple times I was able to figure out how to change the code and get the key card to work just fine. I feel the installation is pretty self explanatory by just putting the product on the door you are using it on, line it up and mark your holes and install.... so we didn’t really need the directions for that. Overall, really happy with the product and my kids are loving using it to get through the locked door :)

The panel itself is good. Quality is up there. But the backing is plastic, flimsy and uses a DC motor that you find in radio shack toys and plastic gears. Anyone with force can tear it open.
