This is a simple, durable and mostly reliable all-metal MagSafe tripod adapter - but it does have it's shortcomings. The circular magnetic head does not rotate, so you have to detach the phone and re-attach it in either portrait/landscape position. Another thing is that the aluminum parts are nicely anodized but prone to scratching, and in turn could scratch your bare iPhone (Instructions recommend a MagSafe compatible phone case). While the head does have a thin layer of plastic on the magnetic surface, it easily gets marked up if you bump or mistakenly try to rotate the attached phone, especially when using one of the included steel rings. The adapter comes nicely boxed up with two cold shoe mounts in a foam block with cutouts. I wish they had included two extra circular cutouts - one for each unused screw converter (the knobs near the bottom). At the recently reduced price of $19, this is a pretty good and easy to use tripod adapter, if you're willing to put up with a few small compromises.

This is a brilliantly designed and engineered phone mount that capitalizes on the MagSafe capacity of iPhones and iPhone cases. It makes mounting and using a phone on a tripod so easy and convenient. Additionally, it's super easy to add cold-shoe attachments like fill lights. It is hands-down my favorite phone mount and definitely worth the price.Other reviewers have questioned the strength of the magnetic bond between the mount and the phone. I used this mount with my iPhone 14 -- both without a case and with a MagSafe case. In both cases the bond is solid. I have absolutely no concerns about putting my expensive phone on the mount and then putting the mount on a tripod. In fact, I did that again today and took the tripod outside to take some group photos. It was quite breezy but I was way more worried about the tripod staying upright than I was about my phone staying in place on the mount.The mount is a great example of engineering. The design is simple & elegant. Everything you need is included and attached. No pieces to lose. The different size tripod mount screws are attached to the body of the mount and two cold shoe brackets can be used in multiple configurations. The piece itself is made of a beautiful black anodized metal.I put this mount on an Arca/RSS quick mount plate which makes it simple to swap it out with different plates on my tripod or to move it from one tripod to another. But it's also easy to move the mount to the camera boom arm I have mounted on my desk. Basically, I think it's perfect in its design and versatility.

While I really wanted to keep this, I had to return it because of the included magnets simply do not stay attached to the device. Each time I attempted to remove the device the magnet would be pulled off and left on the holder. Needless to say, if the magnet would stay on it would be a keeper because I really like the cold shoe options for it.

Thought this was a great substitute for the moment magnet stand but it’s not, looks like I’m just gonna have to wait until I can pay more for the real thing.
