The best
This is the best all round lube I’ve found and I’ve tried quite a few. Chain stays clean for ages, use it all year round, doesn’t need applying too often and is quite and smooth. Not interested in trying any others now would only recommend Smoove.

Great lubricant, long lasting, clean
It's great, best one I've used so far.Easy to apply, it's got a thin nozzle, runny consistency, I am not worried that it won't reach where it's suppose to. Used for a road bike.Durability - lasts surprisingly long, significantly longer than what the bottle suggests, at least in dry conditions. Would easily last me 400km, in a dry summer. In the wet winter, even when not washing bike, it lasts multiple rides, 100km-200km.Usually, if I saw it gunky, I would wipe the chain at least, and with just a wipe, it comes out fairly clean. You can tell the wax 'pushes' out the dirt from the internal pins and rollers. Gives I've had times when I forgot to re-apply after a wash, and it was still ok for days. Also, my chain lasted as much as is it said on the package this time, which suggests it keept the chain wear rate very low.

The best I've used
So, I have waited a long time to review this product as I wanted it to be as much of a real-world review as possible. I bought it early May 2021, it’s now September. It’s been applied to a MTB and a gravel bike, both newly-purchased earlier this year and I’ve covered around 1100 miles or so, the bulk of which is on the gravel bike.To be clear, I bought this with my own hard-earned cash and I haven’t been prompted for the review.I’ve tried all sorts of chain lubes from motor oil (don’t do it!) through to many wet and dry lubes. I’m not a mechanic or chemist though, so this is just may opinion of Smoove. What I hate about most lubes I’ve used is that they either wash off easily (dry lubes) or seem to end up in a black gunk (wet lubes) no matter what I do. I live in the UK and I want something that stands up the typical UK weather – you know, like today, 22°C this morning & bright sunshine, pouring with rain at 2.30!Rather than do a list of “pros and cons” of the product, I’ll tell you my experience with it and what I like/don’t like as I go.OK, it is expensive. Probably the most I personally would ever spend on chain lube but I did it anyway. A word of warning; if you are going to buy this you absolutely, FOLLOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS TO THE LETTER! If you don’t, all the information I read is that the product will not work as it should. There are videos on the manufacturer’s website showing you how to do it, follow them to the letter. My application process is the end of the review so you don’t have to read it.I have no negative points at all as far as my gravel bike goes, I think I have reapplied just once since May – the advice is that you do not need to apply as often as other lubes. As you can see from the photos, there is no black gunge at all. The most I got was a light grey excess that is easily wiped off. The bike has done a mixture of road and gravel in dry, dusty and heavy rain conditions. My MTB was a rather different picture. I’m way too old to be doing jumps and severe routes on the bike, but it has been used in deep mud (see photos) as very wet conditions. Despite the lower mileage, I found surface rust on the drive-chain both after wet rides and post-ride washing. There appeared to be no loss of lubrication in the links which is what counts, and it may be that the MTB uses a different (cheaper) metal in the chain – the bike is about ½ the price of the gravel bike. Wiping the chain after getting wet stops the rust and it wipes of easily if it appears. Both bike chains operate very smoovely (sorry!) and quietly.I am glad I bought it? Yes, definitely. Would I buy again? Definitely. Would I recommend it? Yes, BUT only if you are willing to invest time in the application process. My ApplicationThe chains were relatively new, so I didn’t take the extra step of removing them from the bike.1: Wash bike, especial around drive chain.2: Use a chain cleaner to THOROUGHLY clean the links, Smoove sell a cleaner but I used a strong degreaser I already had.3: Using the degreaser, I used a chain cleaner device on the chain and a stiff brush to clean the cassette, derailleur pully (jockey wheels) and front chainring/s.4: Rinse. The chain should look totally clean – squeezing the link sides together should cause nothing but clean fluid, if it’s black – reclean.5: Let it dry completely – this is really important. I use a clean rag to help but don’t use WD40 etc to try and speed this process up.5: Apply Smoove to the inside of the chain (the side that rubs against the sprockets), “backpedalling” helps with this – there is a good video on their website that shows the best way to do this. I change gears to cover the cassette parts but I’m not sure this is really necessary.6: When every other link has a film of Smoove in the link gap, you have applied enough.7: Let it dry – another really important step. I left mine overnight. Don’t wipe excess off the chain, the white reside disappears on drying. Do wipe it off the bike frame etc though, it does splatter a bit during application.8: Keep everything off your disc brakes, of course.

Brilliant alternative
This stuff is a fantastic alternative to oil based lube. It doesn't tattoo your leg everyone you touch the chain ring and chain nor does it mark your clothes. Gear changes are smooth and responsive. Highly unlikely to go back to regular lube.

A bit gloopy
I am yet to see how long it will last. First impressions are that the bottle will last a long time if it does last as long as they claim, after one 20 mile country road ride my chain is still clean. Application is also very simple, no need to do each link one at a time, just turn the pedal and squeeze. It dries clear but formed several areas of brown sticky gloop on my chain, not too much, just between a few links. If you are buying this thinking it will add any performance bennefits over cheaper lube then you may be dissapointed, it certainly wasn't noticeable over any lube I have tried @ 1/3 of the price and I have used lubes that felt a lot better (but don't last long). In tests I have read online Smoove performs favourably against wear long term but not so well short term so maybe there is a breaking in period.

Great dispenser
Particularly appreciate the device at the top that fits into the chain and release a little line onto each link as you move it around. It makes it quite economical because it means you don’t over-lube and waste it, so it is lasting well. Having this good quality lube has probably encouraged me to clean my drivetrain more often as well.

Not as shown in picture
I bought based on the fact it appeared to come with the Luberetta head. According to Smooth, this will come as standard with all purchases from March '23. Not in this case!

The best chain lube so far
I have been cycling for years and tried all sorts of different lube for my chain. With the UK weather so changeable it is difficult to get the right lube at the right time.I have tried both wet and dry lube at various times, and still use them in specific circumstances however when it is not sure what the weather is planning I use this.It is great, easy to apply and gets the job done with minimum fuss.

Lubes the whole bike and the floor as well
This stuf is way too runny, if you like to lube your rear wheel and your floor as well, this is the lube you are looking for. It doesn't penetrate the links, it just spread all over the outside of the chain and the whole drivetrain is all caked up after only one ride in dry condition after letting it dry overnight. Total garbage.

Excellent bicycle chain wax
This product works very well, is resistant to dirt, dust, water, doesn't leave any residue that cannot be easily wiped or brushed off, and is generally a clean lube. Saw a review that said it wasn't for cyclists - well, quite sure I qualify as a cyclist on the road, gravel, & mountain bikes in New England weather (mud, wet, dry, dust) and this works better than any "oil" lube I've ever used. I've maintained bikes since I was a kid, and used many products on the chain - this is by far the best given I don't want to dip wax my chain in a pot or melted solution. I'm sure that works, but is a pita in my opinion. Very happy with this product.
