Ordered this umbrella for my 12 year old daughter for traveling to and from school after ordering and returning a different umbrella (reviewed separately):  STAYDRY AUTO OPEN AIR VENTED WINDPROOF UMBRELLA-Sky Blue .Since her last umbrella (cheap, standard type) was ruined by the wind during a rain storm, we both agreed a sturdy, wind-proof replacement would be the most sensible choice. She wanted an automatic umbrella as sometimes she is loaded down with so many bags (school books, projects, P.E. bag etc) she barely has one hand free to operate it.After our last experience I wanted to check out this umbrella very thoroughly before giving it to my daughter.What can I say. This umbrella is excellent. Very sturdily made and works perfectly. The handle is a decent size, rubberized and comfortable (even for my large hands) and has a quality wrist strap. The frame is very well made with solid splines and joins. Even the umbrella fabric is good quality and the colours are much better in the flesh than in the product pictures.The auto open/close function works well, although it takes a bit more pressure on the top-half of the button to operate the close function on this unit. Don't know if they are all like that or just this one.For anyone expecting it to automatically fully close, this is not the case. It is just the canopy that collapses into the closed position - you still have to manually push the handle and canopy section together to collapse the telescopic shaft in order to return the umbrella to its pre-opened size. This is not a complaint - posted for your info only.My daughter keeps it in her school bag and the rubber on the bottom corner-edge of the handle has begun to rub off, but I guess this is because it is constantly rubbing against her books/inside of her school bag. The rest of the handle is fine and still offers a comfortable and secure grip.Overall a great umbrella and highly recommended.

No clue what it is in the video, but it's enough to pull the umbrella well enough to jolt about when I'm trying to show you the ribs haha

i bought this umbrella in Jan 2014 & have just ordered a replacement as a spoke has broken. I used it on a daily basis throughout the rainy winter, I dont drive so wanted an umbrella that would stand up to wind & rain as I walked to the bus stop & waited there for bus to work. I live at the coast & it can be extremely windy. The umbrella has never turned inside out & has kept me dry for 15 months, so I am very pleased with it. It folds up small enough to go in a large handbag & is not too heavy. My only criticism is colour is boring but is still best umbrella I've ever had.

I bought this umbrella because I was sick of my last one blowing inside out. This one performs reasonably in moderate wind conditions, but will not really withstand a strong wind without doing what most umbrellas do...blow inside out! I was also disappointed that the velcro fastener has fallen apart after a short period. I wouldn't bother getting another one at this price.

Bought this way back. Didn't think it would last as countless other regular brollies I've had haven't; also it felt a little flimsy. However, it has lasted. I still got it, and it hasn't weaken or anything. I regularly see abandoned brollies scattered across the streets after a spate of devastating weather. A tragedy indeed! I would encourage their owners to invest in a wind proof one, particularly if they can't tidy up after themselves (extenuating circumstances notwithstanding). As a plus, this Totes design has a button which opens and closes (albeit not fully) the umbrella.

so far this umbrella has done well during my stay here in london. it could withstand the wind and the rain, so it works great. i just wish there was more variety in the colors that we could purchase.
