Ronseal CRWDDO500 500 ml Colron Refined Jacobean Wood Dye - Dark Oak

Ronseal have now changed their "Dyes" to wsater based so cannot be mixed with the oil as before - so this is the best alternative to that. The product is thicker and doesn't penetrate the wood as well as applying dye first (not stain) and then applying danish oil. However, we have so much natural wood furniture that one application in a lot less time consuming. Overall a very good product. Oil penetrates the wood and your furniture will last better than sealing it with varnish which eventually peels off into as mess which has to be sanded off. Go for oil. Wood needs nourishing to keep it "alive" and the added colour gives your wooden outside furniture depth of colour and looks brand new.

Really impressed with ease of application and the even colour - I applied using an old cotton t-shirt rather than a brush and found it so easy.After sanding down an oak chest that had some water markings - I applied this to the cleaned surface and it was dry in hours.I had tried cheaper oils and dyes but this was by far the easiest to apply and the best results!

My daughter wanted some pine boxes staining for her wedding reception table decorations.Easily applied the wood stain with a microfibre cloth (kept moist in a plastic bag) and I'm well pleased with the result.I would fully recommend this wood dye to anyone wanting to achieve similar results.
