The Parody Album

Mostly for fans of Chris Moyles
Having been a fan of Chris Moyles and the team that made up the BBC Radio 1 show I was excited to get my hands on this album and even purchased a copy for my father as it was he who got me into Chris' radio show, listening way back when the show was on in the afternoons after I returned from school and then later on the breakfast show. NB: This review is being left 13 years after the original purchase! This is a difficult one to review impartially, I have a feeling that, unless you are a fan of Chris or enjoy parody songs then this album is not going to be for you and will fail to peak your interest. As a fan of Chris and the team, even enjoying the odd parody song outside of Chris' this album brought back some fond memories of listening to the show and the friendly banter between the team as Chris would reveal each new song as it was developed. Hearing them again on this album in a much clearer edit is both refreshing and strange having been used to slightly different versions of the same song over the radio.Highlights for me are the original breakfast show songs such as Lorrydriver, The Boy Does Plenty, I Predict A Diet, Dogs Don't Kill People, Addicted to Plaice and my own personal favorites Barack Obama & Nana Window. There are a few duds within the album, but I guess this would be expected considering the team themselves are broadcasters first and foremost and not trained singers!Overall the album brings back fond memories of Chris and the team's BBC Radio 1 show, the songs still spark memories for me and that counts for a lot. No it is not perfect and it is not for everyone but if you appreciate Chris' sense of humor or a good parody song then give it a go. If you aren't a fan of Chris Moyles for whatever reason then this is unlikely to turn your thoughts around.

There are some really nasty people out there.....
I and my daughter like the album we are listeners and bought the CD because we like Chris and the team. I really can't get my head round people that are using the review to be nasty to Chris and the team. If you don't like him why would you even listen to the CD. Fair play to people that have listened and don't like the CD and have their own opinion. This is what the reviews should be about. This album gives us what we get every morning a little fun in a mad busy world.............I like it

The Parody Album
I was given this CD as a joke present and if you are aware of the Chris Moyles show and his various song parodies then this will amusing enough. This has the parodies from his show which have been rerecorded for this album, as well as some additional tracks to pad the CD out. The booklet is reasonably good with all of the lyrics for the songs and it also notes the original song the parody is based upon. The songs are funny enough, but they start to wear a little thin by half way through and I get the feeling this is the kind of CD you will play once for laughs and then it will sit on your shelf gathering dust. It is usually reasonably cheap on Amazon and if you are a huge fan of Moyles then give it a go, but when all is said and done this is just an amusing side note to his radio show and not much more.Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

Like it or loathe it - it's good fun
Most of the songs have been played on Radio 1 so you should know what to expect before buying this album! Some of the lyrics are clever, others are silly, but all in all it will hopefully bring a smile to your face - enjoy!
