Wonderful album

Although the Public Pressure cover of Cosmic Surfin' is better than the version in this album, that's the only negative remark I can come up with.. Nice how one tune is linked to another ensuring 37 minutes of more or less continuous music, rising to a crescendo around tracks 6 and 7 and tailing off nice after. Yellow Magic (Tong Poo) and La Femme Chinoise are just wonderful and deserve to be listened on a separates system in a large room, there is so much depth in the music....A very tough act to follow and I don't think it's aged that badly either. excellent.

What can I say? This album is simply pure joy. I remember first seeing YMO on the Old Grey Whistle Test more years ago than I wish to remember playing Cosmic Surfin' live and on the strength of that one performance I brought the whole album/cassette and it did not dissapoint at all. For anyone not familar with YMO's music just think of Jean Michel Jarre/Vangelis/Kraftwerk all rolled in together and you get some sort of idea what to expect. I love this album and was delighted to see it on CD with a bonus CD of the tracks for the USA market just about different enough to make it interesting. Buy if you want the very best in synthesier music, believe you me you won't be dissapointed

A blast from the early eighties - while not timeless it still does not sound dated and will be a classic of the electronic era. 'Firecracker' is a ...firecracker!

My favorite track on this double CD is :- 6. Yellow Magic (Tong Poo) , on disc 1. Good quality and value.

This band is one of the leaders of the electric music generation You can hear lots of stuff now that they inference. Enjoyable memories.

Classic. Still have the original 1979 American pressing, but it's quite nice to hear and contrast the two versions. The liner notes and ephemera could stand an update and maybe a paragraph or two for some context, but this no-frills package delivers exactly as advertised.

Diese 2CD bietet ausser der in Europa und USA erschienen, auch die Japanische Version mit leicht unterschiedlichen Laufzeiten und ein Bonus Stück. Wer Damals in sogenannte "Spielhallen" ging, konnte einige der Stücke als Jingles-Melodien bei den beliebten Arcade -Spielen zu Gemüte führen. Fröhlicher Synthie-Pop der auf späteren Alben immer elektronischer und avantgardistischer wurde. zu Recht werden YMO als die japanischen Kraftwerk angesehen. Wobei Sie bei weitem vielfältiger als diese waren.

Esta edición contiene las 2 versiones del mismo álbum; la original japonesa de 10 canciones y la versión "USA" de 9, lo cual es algo bastante agradable y estoy muy feliz de que esto exista. Aunque parezca redundante ambas versiones son diferentes, pues la versión "USA" tiene un ritmo mas acelerado y unos arreglos diferentes que la hace sentir mas enérgica, mientras que la versión original en comparación (personalmente) se puede percibir quizá un poco melancólica o hasta ~épica~ desde cierto punto de vista. El álbum es un "jewel case" de doble disco que se desdobla como si fuera un "digipak" para acceder al segundo disco. En mi caso el álbum me costó 383 pesos (muy buen precio comparado a lo que cuesta cada versión del álbum por separado y aun más considerando lo que es en si misma esta edición), fue vendido y enviado por Amazon México, tardó 2 días en llegar y afortunadamente el álbum llegó sin daños.
