Nice
I bought one of these on the recommendations from someone I work with. It is easy to assemble and to clean. The chicks seem to enjoy. I like it better than a heat lamp.

A good option for temperature control.
This is a great tool if you want more control over temperature in a brooding area. You want areas with slightly different temperature levels so that the chicks can move about and regulate themselves to some degree. Having a heat bulb or big heater or other antiquated method could heat the whole area uniformly and keep it too hot, or not hot enough. And you don’t want that bulb too close to the chicks. This feels a little safer than the bulb method and shouldn’t tax your electric meter too much. It’s easy to get set up and functional. It’s easy to keep clean. It will accommodate different sized brooding areas, as well as different sized stock.

Good to keep your chickies warm!
This brooder heater plate is great! Here's why I like it so much:1) Uses a lot less electricity than a heat lamp2) Doesn't make the whole house heat up like the heat lamp3) Much safer--no fire risk because it doesn't get as burning hot as a heat lamp does4) Takes literally only seconds to assemble it or adjust it.5) You can adjust it so that one side is high and one is lower, if you have chicks of different ages or sizes.6) It's easy to clean, you can just wipe it off.Very satisfied with this!!

Pretty good
While i dont like that the chicks can run around from this, they general stay where the heat is. Heat element works fairly well. Would get multiple depending on how many chicks you have.

Doesnt put off enough heat even at lowest setting
I really wanted to like this.Simply to assemble.Easy to keep clean. But not enough heat even at the lowest I could put it for quail. I had some die and I had to get out the old heat lamp. The one star is due to the heat. If it doesnt heat up enough for the hatchlings to get warm and stay warm this is just a good idea with no follow through.

We used to used the red bulbs . . .
100/100Now, we use this. It is far superior and the chicks seem to be happier, too. And happy chicks is always a plus.I really like that it’s pretty sealed up, so cleaning is fairly easy. It also doesn’t have any fancy adjustments. It’s pretty straightforward. And did I mention the chicks really seem to like it?Ultimately, is it worth the price? Yes

Nice Adjustable Brooder Plate
My new “Vakdon Brooder Heater for Chicks” was easy to assemble. It has adjustable height and angles, which is good to have as your baby chicks grow. I really like the removable acrylic plate on top—it is very helpful to have when cleaning the brooder. For my sub-tropical climate, I like this brooder heater much better than a heat lamp.
