Lions Sports Mixture are hard fruity gums, they taste absolutely gorgeous and come in all kinds of sporty shapes. They are also one of the most talked about sweets in our shops. "Why did they have to ruin Sports Mixture by changing the black ones to blackcurrant flavour" we often hear? Well, good news, the original Lion's Sports Mixture have not been 'ruined', the black ones are still liquorice! So, all your liquorice lovers out there don't have to throw the black ones away like you do the ones out of those horrible pre-packaged bags - hoorah! This pack contains 500 grams of Lions Sports Mixture sweets - that's more than 1 lb! These sweets are weighed out by hand and then heat sealed in high quality clear bags (they are so good that they create a present in their own right!). All of the products that we bag are clearly labelled with the best before date, batch code and name of the sweet.

The Real Thing!
Bought for my husband at the end of 2016 as he has always raved about these sweets from his childhood, bemoaning those of the same name that came after for their different flavours.I don't like sweets like this myself but the recipient was delighted, picking out his favourites took him right back to happy years, mates and the sweetshops of childhood.It seems these are what they claim to be, Sports Mixture sweets with original flavours. If you have a similarly nostalgic friend or family member this bag gives them a great opportunity to relive those flavours. If you have younger children to treat, a couple of these sweets will show them that there was a world before Haribo etc. (Nothing against Haribo - I love 'Tang fastics')I can't recall the pack sizes available but if I buy again, and if possible, I would order half the quantity or look to split the contents into at least 2 gifts. 500g is a huge amount of Sports Mixture!!!

Old Stock
I’ve had Sports Mixtures many times over the years and these are hard and dull in colour. Most likely to be old stock. Not very pleasant to eat at all. My mouth gets sore because of the texture.

Not as good as previous purchased
I used to buy these as a child. Lyon’s are the regional maker though Maynard’s do them as well. This purchase has seen a change in the quality and taste. I will not be buying them again

Packaging.
Sweets just in a clear plastic bag. Couldn’t put that in as a gift. Sweets ok. Just a bit disappointed.
