Know your dog
This product would work great if your dog is extremely driven by food/treats. I have a mini and toy Aussie and they like treats but didn’t like the feel of the sand paper. The treat wasn’t enough for them to want to scratch. So if you have a spoiled dog that isn’t super driven by food/treats you might want to invest in taking them to a trusted groomer or your vet office for a nail trim. I gave it 4 stars because it looks like it would work with the right dog.

Gets the job done, but not designed for long term use
I was able to train my super anxious dog to use this, and it did really help to trim down his nails, something that used to cause us a lot of anxiety. The issue is the product is not designed to be used long term. There is only one extra sandpaper replacement (and despite lots of searching I could not find where you could buy extra replacements) and the adhesive on the sandpaper is so strong it’s impossible to remove from the wood backing. After several attempts and with the use of a paint scraper, this is as much as I could remove. So this works well until you need to replace the sandpaper, and then you’re SOL. If you’re looking for a long term solution, I’d look elsewhere.

I have a dog that refuses to allow me to cut his nails and this product did the trick!
My stubborn Rottweiler refuses to let me trim his nails with clippers or rotary tools. I saw an ad for this scratching pad and took a chance on ordering it. It is AMAZING!!!!!!! My dog now has nicely filed front nails and he loves using the pad. I really like the fact that there is a compartment to hold treats to entice him to use the pad. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with stubborn dogs that refuse nail trimming.

Not worth the money
Our dog didn’t understand or like this at all. He’s also not a digger type of dog so he’d rather nudge it with his nose than paw at it. Better for dogs that like to dig.

Works Great!
We have a almost one year old puppy who does not tolerate having his nails clipped or trimmed. We've practiced handling his paws since we got him when he was ~4 months old, and he's good about it until the clippers or trimmer comes out. He learned how to dig on the board in about 10 minutes and after just a few short sessions, his nails already look so much better! He's happy and we are thrilled!

After They Learn It’s Too Easy
My dogs took about 15 min to learn how to do this but it slides so easily they don’t get the nail filing they need. One dog takes less than 2 seconds and one scratch and the other maybe 2 scratches.

I'm shocked it works so well.
My dog absolutely HATES his nails being cut. It's a huge fight and no one is happy afterwards. I was doubtful about this product, but it works like a charm. The treat drawer does pop out really easily, so I either face the treat drawer the wrong way so my dog actually scratches it long enough to trim his nails, then turn it the right way so he gets his treat. No more fighting to get his nails trimmed.

Super effective for a pup who refuses to have their nails trimmed
Our dog HATES having his nails trimmed. This is a huge help to trim the nails on his front paws at home. It's quick (5-10 minutes at most) and does a great job. Highly recommend.

Ich bin Begeistert !
The media could not be loaded.

Efficient
I was sceptical about this product to be honest, but had to try because one of my dogs doesn't like cutting their claws especially on the front paws. I've already tried different nail clippers, dremel, nail files and a similar board without a treat compartment. This one does work ( not on the dew claws and not on the back paws). It took about 5-10 min for the dog ( medium size, 31 kg) to figure out what to do. If your dog is not very food motivated, it may take longer. There are however couple of cons. 1. The board is not big ( would have been great if there was a larger size of the board) and it doesn't have any floor grips so you'd have to hold it especially if the dog is of medium size or larger. I use rubber garden gloves to do it, it's easier and provides better grip. 2. The treat compartment is very easy to open so when the dog gets to it, it often flies out. I usually turn the board, letting the dog to work on the claws evenly on the surface and preventing the compartment to be open too quickly.Easy to store and it comes with the spare set of sand paper for the board and for the compartment.Despite the cons, it's totally worth trying.

LOVE IT
My dog is such a fussy little guy so this is perfect for keeping his long sharp nails nice and buffed. He figured out how to use it right away and loves scratching away to get the reward inside. SO glad I bought this :) Perfect for fussy dogs who hate getting their nails cut
