WOW, I am a BELIEVER!
I bought this collar as a last resort for my dog who is very hyper active. He jumps on me, nearly knocking me down every time i have him in the house. i have used it for one day so far, and am amazed at the results so far. It keeps him from chasing my cats, and he is much more relaxed now, and will lay down next to me on the sofa without jumping all over the place. I have not used the shock option, only the vibrate and that was all it took to get him to calm down. I love this and am so happy i bought it. I now have a big dog i can cuddle with, instead of a dog that is always jumping on me. I did read many reviews on many of these collars. I chose this one because of the price and the bright BIG buttons on the remote. I have not had to use the shock option yet, and doubt i will ever have to. I tried it on myself at 2, and OMG it was very strong. Please make sure if you use the shock option that you start at 1 or 2 first. It came preset at a very high level. Turn it down low and work your way up. 2 is more then strong enough if you ask me. When reading the negative reviews on this product i noticed something very odd. All the negative comments were posted by non verified purchases. I noticed that and used the filter option to see verified purchases and what they had to say about this product. I personally and happy i made this purchase. I plan on using it next on our walks to keep him from pulling hard on the leash. People, yes, there is hope for your doggie. I am a believer. :)I almost sent this collar back after the 1st time i had to recharge it. I thought the receiver was dead after i recharged both pieces. The blue light was flashing but it would not do anything after the charge. Well after playing around with it for a bit, i realized, that once the battery goes dead, the collar receiver powers its self completely off. Even though the little blue light is still flashing during the charge, it is fully powered off when it goes dead, so be sure after you charge it, that you click the little tiny button on the collar receiver 3 quick clicks to power the collar receiver back on.

Wowza!
I purchased 2 of these, hesitantly, after having very bad luck with other training collars in the past. I'm really glad I decided to give them a shot--by far the best training collars I've used to date! The arrived well packaged with very clear instructions and are widely adjustable. I have two German Shepherds, one still at a puppy but large at 6 months old and 75 lbs, and other in the adolescent stage at 1.5yrs and 65lbs. While GDS's are incredibly smart and easy to train, they can also be incredibly stubborn and bossy sometimes. I noticed we had started regressing with things like incessant barking whenever they were outside and someone would walk by, and leash pulling during walks. So far these have worked mostly as I'd hoped. For my one shepherd, the beep alone is enough to catch her attention and stop the barking. If we're out on walks and approaching another dog I just push the vibration button once and she stays silent the whole time we pass. It's a night and day difference! The collar has been less effective on the other shep but I'm tossing that up partially to being a stubborn male entering sexual maturity and the fact that he's a long hair so I'm still working out the kinks of collar placement for effectiveness with him...The range seems great, I've never really tried to measure but we live near a golf course and a couple of times when they've taken off tearing through it out of site I gave the beep/vibration buttons a push and they came barreling back. I have not noticed any issues with sores on the skin; I always take them off at night time or whenever we leave the house and to date have never had to use the shock function (but I know it works because I accidentally shocked myself when putting them together). The charge holds well, I can go about 3 days with regular use before charging and even then I just plug everything in together at night near their kennels. I would certainly recommend this for anyone considering a collar for the first time or anyone maybe just thinking about one due to bad experiences in the past.

Get this instead of a dog trainer!
After spending hundreds of dollars on ineffective dog trainers, someone recommended I just 'buy a shock collar on Amazon'. I so wish I had received that advice sooner. After a total of 3 shocks in 2 days, by dog now behaves the way we have always wanted. Anytime he even thinks about being bad, we use the vibrate or chime warning, and knows that if he continues whatever he is doing, the shock will follow, so he stops whatever the undesired behavior is immediately! No more dog aggression on walks, no more jumping up on guests, no more sniffing of guests that are not dog people (there are a few of those weirdo's out there), no more barking at other animals on TV, no more barking at light that reflects off of our cell phones and onto the walls or ceiling (we had claw marks down our walls..), and the list goes on. If you have a 'bad dog', get this. You'll thank yourself for saving the hundreds or thousands that your local trainer will charge you.

My dog might be a pervert...
Very good quality device. I shocked myself with it multiple times before I used it with my dog. The only issue I have is that my dog seems to have developed an immunity to it. He just doesn't give a fudge. I'm up to level 40 and he just ignores it. I shocked myself at varying levels, peaking at level 25, and it was crazy strong.I think my dog might be a masochist.Seriously...I think he likes it :(
