Are these for short or long scale bass guitar ?

Long scale. Do a search for short scale strings.

Does the coating dampen the effects of pinch harmonics? I use harmonics a lot and don't want to lessen that ability.

Not at all. The coating is sorta like when aluminum is anodized. Not like other strings with actual coatings on them. I used them on my Roscoe 5 for several years and now on my Spector NS2 for the last 5 years. DR makes the best strings. The feel of these is very similar to the Sunbeams.

Have you actually ever played a guitar? How can you sell such a nasty product? How can you sleep at night?

I play the bass, I've tried a different set of DR coated strings. They're not my thing, but other players want the benefits that coating provides them. Different strokes Kirin. Check out some of the non-coated strings I do carry. Thanks.
