An impressive piece of equipment- quiet and smart
I am reviewing the BlueAir 211i Max and 411i Max series in this review as I bought both - one for living room and one for bedroom. Bottom line, these are very impressive units and for the price I am impressed and pleased with each for functionality and effectiveness. I think the aesthetics of it are pleasing as well. It looks nicer than a black box wheezing in your room. Pros for the BlueAir series. very very quiet. On auto maintenance mode - you can't hear the thing. These are smart machines. You can monitor every aspect of your air quality through the app. You can adjust the control lights from off to bright. It tracks months of air quality data for the room it is in by month, week, day. You can adjust from sleep mode, auto, and 3 fan speeds using the app remotely. It tells you how much filter life is left. It tells you the outside air quality and compares to your inside. Example of its effectiveness; I was sautéing some Italian sausage and onions, the unit detected the particles and immediately went into high mode for about 5 minutes until all the odor was eliminated and then went back to silent. The front LED bar changes from Blue to Green, orange and red depending on the air quality while at the same time adjusting the fan speed to address the corresponding level of air quality indicated. Same thing happened when smoking some meat on the back patio. I left the door open to bring in the food, the unit detected the smoke and the front LED went red. After closing the door, it ran on high mode until the LED indicators began to regress back to blue and the fan speed decreasing accordingly until all the smoke odor was eliminated from the room. Cons for the BlueAir product. It is a bit pricier than other options - but for all the differences - so far, I feel the Blue Air product is definitely worth the price difference, for me at least. What I have not addressed: the longivity of the products; the life of the filter; ease of maintaining; Both of my purchases are within the first month;

Surprisingly Smart and Stylish for a Compact Purifier
I’ve been really impressed with the Blueair Blue Pure 411i Max. It’s compact enough to fit in my smaller office, but still feels powerful and well-built. The design is modern and clean, and the washable fabric pre-filter gives it a soft, cozy look that blends well with furniture, rather than looking like a clunky box appliance. The smart features are the real standout. The app works flawlessly, as it's responsive and intuitive. I was amazed at how sensitive it is to changes in air quality. For example, I sprayed Febreze nearby, and the purifier instantly lit up with a warning that air quality had dropped. It’s nice to see visible feedback that shows it’s actually working and not just running in the background doing who-knows-what. It comes with quality filters pre-installed, and setup was a breeze. It's also quieter than I expected, especially on the lower settings, just a soft hum that’s easy to ignore. The air in the room feels fresher as i work in my office all day and the room always feels clean. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a smart, effective air purifier that doesn’t take up much space and actually looks good.

A must-have for people with allergies.
This air filter is amazing! It has truly helped with my allergies when I sleep. I have a cat and a dog, and I am allergic to both (more to the cat than the dog). My cat cuddles with me every night nowadays. I used to wake up extremely congested and sneezy, but now it is significantly better. My nose feels clear when I wake up. It will sometimes get congested, but WAYY better than it was before. And I rarely need my inhaler to go to bed at night now either - I think I've used it once TOTAL since I got this filter, it used to be at least 3 or 4 times a week. I got the small wifi version for a great deal, and I've found the app to be very useful. I love that it tells me the air quality and has an auto setting which will adjust the fan strength based on air quality. I think it's been really good at detecting too! Whenever we smoke in the room, the fan instantly gets boosted up to max power. I barely hear it on the low setting, and even the high setting is not that loud. I sleep right next to it, and it doesn't bother me. I love that theres a washable cloth outer cover to catch all the larger particles, I often vacuum off the loose fur that my pets shed. Being able to catch those particles makes the filter last longer. I've had this running basically nonstop for just over a month now, and the app says there's still 88% lifetime left in my filter that came with the unit. The app has a nice setting that will turn off the fan when my phone is not nearby, so it will automatically turn off if I'm not home. You can adjust how bright the indicator lights are (or turn them off completely). There's a little color light that indicates the air quality as well. Everything about this filter is just great. Honestly, my only regret is that I didn't know about it sooner.

Attractive, quiet, but not true HEPA
I needed to set up a filter in my home office once I started sharing it with a parakeet, and decided to go for this model, as offering a good combination of size, appearance, and functionality. I also splurged on the 411i (internet connected) just to try it out. I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying the connectivity. Not that I NEED to be able to adjust fan speed from a thousand miles away, but I could!! More importantly, this gives me the ability to program a schedule - lower fan speed when I'm working, higher in the evenings / weekends. It also lets me set intermediate fan speeds, e.g. 2.5 versus 3, or whatever. Noise: I have it set to 1 during the day, and I genuinely do not notice it unless I deliberately listen for it. When I'm in the office later, it is louder - but it's just white noise, so it's not bothersome. And my allergies do seem to be slightly better. HEPA filtration: The manufacturer uses the term HEPASilent, not true HEPA. Doing some further reading, this is because the unit's filter is NOT a true HEPA filter, which by itself traps 99.7% of particles of 0.3 microns (and supposedly, even more for larger or smaller particles). Instead, this unit combines a barrier filter with an electrostatic unit - presumably this is responsible for the low noise level and the energy efficiency. Having used true HEPA units in the pasts, the BlueAir unit is definitely quieter. Because of the electrostatic component, the device will emit a small amount of ozone. As it falls within all regulatory limits, including California's tough rules, this seems to be low enough that it is not worrisome. If you are particularly concerned over ozone, and/or plant to use this in a closed room without adequate ventilation, it's something to consider. A note on the filtration efficiency: BlueAir claims that their unit removes 99.7% of particles 0.1 microns in size - which would seem to be even better than the HEPA standard. However, since the HEPA standard says that they will likely trap MORE particles larger and smaller than 0.3 microns, it is certainly possible that the BlueAir doesn't work quite as well. I don't know if that's the case, and I suspect that for household uses, it would not make any difference for practical purposes - the difference would be trivial.

Easy to set up
After arrival it took just a few minutes to download the app, connect to the purifier snd operate it. It showed the air was excellent. I put it on automatic. Then I went in the kitchen and fried some fish. When I came back into the living room it indicated the are was poor and the fan was going faster. My app said the air would be good in 55 minutes. And it was! And the fan went back to low. After 6 weeks on low it started making a clicking sound. It wasn’t too loud but irritating when trying to sleep. I called customer service and they are sending me a replacement. Note: register the unit and get a 3 year warranty. Otherwise one year.

The BEST AIR PURIFIER
When I was looking for an air purifier, my Son In Law suggested the Blueaire. This is my second Blueaire. My larger 311i+ is in the primary bedroom. This smaller one is in a guest bedroom, where my grandchildren will nap, when they are over. I have 4 dogs and even though I clean every few days, there is nothing I can do about the air quality. What I love about this purifier. This model connects to their App via Bluetooth. The App will tell you the status of your air as well as when you need to change the filter out. But the lights on the unit itself will show you how your air quality is. I keep this unit in "Auto" mode, so it will sense the air quality and kick up the speed when needed. When the air is clean, this air purifier is so silent you don't even know it's on..but you can feel the air coming from the top. These "smart" air purifiers sense any unusual particles in the air, and when it does, when it's on Auto, will kick into high gear until the air is once again reading at "Excellent", on the App...then the lights go back their normal color, and the unit runs silent again. You can also put it on different speeds that will run at that speed 24/7..but keeping it on Auto, it will self adjust as to the air quality. With my other unit, in the primary bedroom...when my husband uses baby powder, after a shower...if I use a spray hair product...if I use a spray sunscreen, from the on-suite bathroom, the Blueaire fan will kick into a higher setting...the lights on the unit change, showing it working harder..then after about 10 minutes, you hear the fan getting quiter as the air gets cleaner....so smart! I also notice my nose is much clearer in the morning, after sleeping. I didn't want the unit to sit on the floor, so I got a plant stand at my local hardware dealer.

✅ Works Great in Small Spaces
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I bought this Blueair air purifier for my single wide trailer in a campground, and it has made a huge difference. Trailers can sometimes hold onto cooking, musty, or outdoor smells, but this purifier completely eliminated the odors in a short amount of time. The air feels cleaner and fresher, and it’s been a great improvement for a smaller living space. It runs quietly and works better than I expected. Highly recommend for anyone in a trailer, RV, or small home needing help with smells and air quality.

"Your purifier is offline."
I bought this because of the app connectivity. The app only works about 10% of the time because the purifier that's 10 feet from my router won't stay connected to the wifi. Other issues: -The app lies about your air quality history and just draws a line between "then" and "now" when it updates. -The air quality metric is bogus and completely separate from official air quality metrics. They try to trick you into thinking your air is filthy when it's perfectly normal. -They try to get you to buy new filters by lying about the "lifetime" of the filter. -Bonus annoyance: You'd think for the amount of money that these things cost that they would have found a way to muffle the fan a little bit. This thing is extremely loud. I don't even care if my air is polluted anymore. I can't listen to a jet engine for the rest of my life. I'm going with a different brand next time. This one is clearly for ignorant soccer moms who don't actually know their elbow from a hole in the ground. I mean, it's a FAN with a FILTER on it, and everything the company tried to tack on past the basic principle feels rushed, hobbled, and malicious. I'm not a beta tester. Fix your issues before you sell them. Or maybe don't because I won't be buying your criminally overpriced product again anyway.

Really Works to Clean the Air
This is a great product. It really works well. We bought it to clear wildfire smoke and we are really pleased about the clarity of the air in our home. The app works very well and it is easy to use. Provides air quality feedback and information, tells you about particles in the air and has several options that help optimize the effectiveness, adjust the fan speed etc. It is not loud but also has a night mode. Truly helps my breathing.
