Don't be fooled into thinking this little machine magically packs the power of a real AC unit. It doesn't. Ice packs keep a water tank cold and the resulting cooler air is circulated using the fan. It's not going to give you the crisp, cold dry air of an AC unit, but for what it is, it works well. My bedroom is blocked off from the central air of the rest of the house and gets hot. I turn on the cooler at night to help get some sleep.The machine itself is very nice. There're a few different settings for air flow, an option to make the vents swing, a timer option up to 12hrs, and of course the decision of using the water tank to cool or just using as a plain fan. It also comes with a remote, which is very useful at night. It's a clean design and is easily tucked away if needed. All in all I'm really happy with my purchase! I knew what I was getting and it works exactly as expected.A tip! The ice packs are packed in styrofoam in the bottom of the box -- it looks like it's all just packaging. I almost threw them out and assumed I hadn't received them, so keep an eye out.

I am happy with this product but set up instructions leave out the tank cord assembly. I I could not figure out if the electrical unit goes into the tank. I did learn by observation that a square in the tank hold holds the pump and tube. This unit is a swamp cooler which in Colrado is key as it vents hot air and sends it out cooler. A day with will filter and cool a room but it is not an air conditioner. Cooling like an ac your water should be close to frozen and add the ice packs, order more on Amazon because 4 in the tank is ideal. Turn on, vent, cool then speed and you will get AC effect. Good buy for a nice and reliable heat relief.

The drip pan in the bottom where you place your water had a very large crack in it upon its arrival. Unfortunately its been so hot I had to just flex tape it and use it because I can’t wait for a new one to come in while this one is being sent back. Aside from this the product works great, if anyone could possibly help that’d be great I just really cannot send this back and wait for a new one right now because of the heat.

It is easy to use, but I can't say it chills. It cools. It cools better than my fan when I use the ice packs that come with it. I do use it in my laundry area in my garage without any type of AC. I have it focused on my washer and dryer, and it does make some difference. I will continue to use it but would not buy it again.

It’s good as a fan

Unfortunately this is a case of false advertising/product description. It is NOT an air conditioner, it’s just a fan you can add water and ice to cool down the air. Sure, it works just fine. The ice and water do help a bit, but I would never had spent this much money had I realized what I was getting.

Not for Texas heat

I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money on this. I have it out in my enclosed patio to provide cooler air but it really doesn't blow cold air at all, even with the ice packs up top. It blows out cool air only but for this size I think it may work better in a smaller area. Definitely doesn't blow cold air like an AC unit.
