Eyes of Eagles

I read this in 1993, and couldn't put it down. 20 plus years later, I finally found it again, that's how amazingly this book is written.

A well written book and a good story with plenty of action in it.will keep you interested from start to finish

bought for a friend along with numerous other books in the series. good quality and delivered fast. will be buying more for him in the future

Repetitive in parts and could have done with stricter editing

I very much enjoyed the somewhat fictionalized account of the battle of the Alamo. The larger than life characters that Mr Johnstone creates in his books like Jamie, Preacher, Smoke, etc. l you into the story and make not want to put the book down until it's finished.

Good story. A little over the top re: the hero but a good rousing adventure and a good telling of the battle at the Alamo and the initiation of Texas independence. Interesting characters that are not stereotypical. Bordering on myth but the western lends itself to that so, open your mind, sit back and enjoy some fun pulplike story telling.

Ich habe schon einige Romane über die Schlacht von Alamo gelesen und dachte eigentlich, hier nichts Neues mehr zu finden. Aber weit gefehlt - William W.Johnstone hat dieses historische Kapitel diesmal aus einer ganz anderen und sehr spannenden Perspektive geschildert. Ich kenne seine ASHES-Romane und habe deshalb den ersten Band der EAGLES-Serie getestet. Dieser Roman macht Appetit auf alle anderen Bände dieser Serie. Eine klassische Familiensaga - aber dennoch mit vielen neuen Elementen, die jeden Western-Leser begeistern dürfte. William W.Johnstone hat wieder mal ein Meisterwerk geschaffen!

I had never read about the Alamo before, and had no idea that it was part of this story when I began reading. It was fascinating story that Mr Johnson built and I have enjoyed this character in many other of his books. With the addition of the info about the battle of the Alamo to add authenticity it was a great read. Thank you!

Had trouble putting book down once I began reading. Fast moving gripping factual chronicles of the last days of the Alamo.
