Personalised Engraved Gold Pocket Watch in a Pouch

I'm generally very pleased with this pocket watch from Charles Hendon. The engraving is top notch, I chose "Script" for the writing format. It's very nice when companies can send a typed receipt, the customer then can refer back to the company name (although that is on the velveteen draw string bag which is a nice touch) should they need to have any further contact, or indeed make another transaction with the seller.My problem was that when the watch arrived it wasn't working..however another nice touch is the spare battery which I installed into the back of the watch. But what a struggle I had refitting the plastic cradle that holds the battery in place!Then the plastic face covering popped off, which does clip back in place though.The other battery was working fortunately,and now the watch is working fine, it's a very nice shiny gold finish to the pocket watch. I really do like it..but when it needs another battery I'll go to a jeweller's shop.It should easily be replaced, the back plate has a tiny indentation for a small tool to unclip the backing, maybe other customers will find that easier than me..However I'll give five stars for the overall quality of the watches presentation, and very quick and safe delivery, and good service.The watch is wrapped in bubble wrap, in its bag in an Amazon envelope..

What a product! I have ordered 4 of these. With 4 different engravings, different fonts and I am DELIGHTED. They took 2 days to come! How is that possible?? These are for the men at my wedding, as a little gift, and these are perfect. Very plain, which I like as I think plain is more tasteful, they come in a nice pouch, which I think looks nicer than a box (in case the box is naff or the satin inside is not stuck down properly or is fraying) and they come with a spare battery. These aren't the best watches in the world but they are nice. They are plain and simple and I am very happy. I checked each one and made sure they all open and close properly and they do so, other than them falling apart before I give them or they fall apart soon after I give them, I don't see a problem. I checked to see how much it would cost to have engraving done if I bought a watch and took it to someone in my locality and you are talking 16- 25 pounds.....and that depends on what you want. To get 4 watches, that work and look good, with engraving and spare battery for under £60 is amazing. If anything happens to them before or just after my wedding (while I'm still in earshot of the recipients), I will edit this review and tell you.

I ordered this as a christmas present from my children to their grandpa. I was a little sceptical about the quality as it was priced cheaply in comparison to other pocket watches I had seen in the listings. The product arrived very quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at what great value for money this was. It was very well packaged and came in a lovely little presentation box exactly as the picture. It even arrived with a spare battery. The overall quality was far better than I had expected and it looked to be worth of greater value than I had paid. I was extremely happy with the inscription, which was clear and in a nice looking font type.The recipient of this gift was absolutely thrilled with it, as am I. A definite must for parents struggling for a gift for their dads and grandfathers!

I bought this as a present for my son. He loves it. He now feels that he stands out amongst his peers and relishes being able to use grand theatrical flourishes to tell someone the time.. The engraving was spot on and just what I wanted.The watch came quickly and was as described, I thought that I'd missed out on the free engraving, as my response to the e-mail they sent regarding this service was very late in the day, but was delighted when it arrived. Definitely advise getting the gift box for two reasons, firstly it makes an ideal storage place when watch not in use and secondly it just adds a special touch when giving it as a present. I thoroughly recommend this company, would use them again.

I bought this watch as a gift for my Son, having read the previous reviews I had no concerns about my purchase. The company emailed me prior to the delivery and asked what message and font I required, after I responded they returned another emailed advising my instructions would be carried out and the watch delivered asap. When I received the watch I was overwhelmed the real thing is much better than the lovely photos online, it arrived well packaged in a presentation box with blue silk, and an extra battery was included. The engraving is superb clear, centred and a special touch. If anyone wants that extra special gift I would strongly recommend this watch. Thanks again over the moon 😀

When I took early retirement in 2000 I symbolically removed my wristwatch and have never worn one since, recently our grand daughter began school and we take her two mornings a week when our daughter is working.Fishing out my mobile phone every few minutes to check the time was becoming a pain, but this pocket watch with its clear, easy to read face is ideal for me and was very competitively priced, when I sneak a look at the watch I am sure she thinks I am about to turn into the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.Delivery was very fast and the engraving teams email communications to confirm details were excellent.

Absolutely beautiful! I got this as a gift for my sister for Christmas, and it arrived very quickly. The presentation box is a much lighter blue than shown in the picture, but still very nice. I was extremely impressed that it arrived set to the right time and with a spare battery, which I put underneath the pocket watch for when my sister was to open her gift. It's very beautiful, and the engraving is very impressive. My sister kept saying how it must have been really expensive, and has added this to her regular use and is no longer looking for a wristwatch. I'd definitely recommend it, especially for the price.
